Opinion Radical left vs Radical Right poll

Which do you think is worse for American society as a whole?

I'm not shy about my distain for rioting and looting and even things like "cancel culture"... but this isn't a contest, really. The radical right (not to be confused with every person in a MAGA hat) is, and has been for some time, a frightening beast in the West. We're talking about guys with nooses and sniper rifles and fertilizer bombs that destroy entire buildings. And let's not pretend that the radical right hasn't been canceling people, burning books, and stomping out free speech since long before it was cool.

Don't get me wrong. The left has shown their potential for committing atrocities throughout the globe, but to this point in history that threat hasn't manifested itself in the West the way that Right Wing extremism has.

The fear, if you're someone like me, is that the radical left in the West is gradually becoming more and more like the radical right in their tactics and behaviours and treatment of people with whom they disagree, or "othering" of people who don't look or live like they do. When you're my age, you recognize that shit for what it is and it is alarming.

Anyone with the word "radical" next to their name is scary as hell. I agree about all the nutjobs you're talking about on the radical right, but let's not forget that we've seen what happens when someone on the radical left gains power...you get millions of ruined lives, starvation, death like what's happened in Venzuela if you want a recent example. And shockingly...many on the left don't even necessarily view Chavez as a "radical". No, that's not the U.S. which I realize this poll and thread are about, but it shows how dangerous any type of far out thought is.

Left. Were they at equal strength I would have said the right however they are reasonably well contained (and no, Trump is not the radical right). On the other hand, the radical left is everywhere and completely run amok.

This is why I voted the radical left - not just this behavior, but the increasingly widespread acceptance of it. Radical right wingers are dangerous and have historically been more violent, but they are widely condemned by mainstream society. Increasingly extreme left wing behavior is completely ignored or accepted by the mainstream. Terrible things have happened throughout history not because of a couple lone nut jobs, but because mainstream society went along with those nut jobs.

. No one on the left is condoning the crimes of looting and vandalism, however the right wing seem to have been using the actual civil protests (which I support 100%) and vandalism interchangeably, which is a dishonest tactic to paint anyone who supports BLM cause as being a criminal.

This is complete bullshit.

“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, said. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”

“That is reparations,” Atkins said. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance.”

This article examines why, especially in an American context, “nonviolent” protest does not work and therefore, why looting and riots are legitimate forms of protest despite many people who consider themselves activists questioning the reasoning.

Radical Right, easily.

If you want a rural nation dominated by White Males, social classism, racial incarcerations, and mass shootings

There really is not such things as "radical" left. Rather they are overly progressive for our timeline, but nothing radical about them.
If this wasn't the prevailing mainstream opinion then I'd probably agree that far right is much worse. The thing that makes the radical left
dangerous is the refusal by the mainstream media or anyone left leaning to a) recognise it exists and b) condemn any of their behaviours. It seems anything is justifiable by leftists as long as it's "on the right side of history."

The radical left has actually become the radical right it used to despise. It's bizarre, utterly bizarre.

Both are a nightmare but my day-to-day life would be disrupted more by the radical left to be honest. Yes, because I'm white. No, that's not cool.

Yeah I agree. the radical right routinely gets brought up and slated by the mainstream media - the radical left is being allowed to fester with no checking mechanisms whatsoever.

The radical left by far because they've been able to hide under the cloak of humanitarian values, while the radical right has been effectively painted for what they are.
I guess a lot has to do with the academia and their dissonant attitudes towards the system that allow them the freedoms they enjoy.
Both are wolves but the other one is in sheeps' clothing, both are a bunch of sick fucks that only know how to oppress.
Fuck them all.

All are in the top 100 happiest places to live in America, except for the most right-leaning city, Philadelphia.

This is the extreme left the right is afraid of:

You just voted for the guy that wrote the "racial incarcerations" bill. LOL

Which group did $500 million worth of damage in one city while peacefully protesting over the summer? There’s your answer.

yup.

ask yourself this...
around 11/3 and 11/4 when the country was boarding up businesses and homes for a post election fall out...do you think they were doing this for people like the Proud Boys?
or BLM or Antifa? there's your answer there.

Couldn't make it up could you.

The radical right are at least up-front about what they are. There is no pretence, they are cunts and everyone knows it and they are rightly called out in it. The left are a trojan horse.

If I'm gonna get robbed Id rather be dragged into an alley at knifepoint than have some dude drink with me all night long while pretending to be my friend, then pick my pockets when Im inebriated. If you are going to live your life as a cunt, don't pretend to be somthing else.
