Economy "Radical" Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Well it won’t happen likely and sure it could work.

Why not tax billionaires a little more on any income over a particular amount. Or go back to the previous corporate tax rate and raise revenue that way.

I doubt neither the taxation policy or the climate change tech would work. The tax angle has been talked about already in the thread and the video. Mainly because it won't be effective at raising funds, due to either the same people avoiding taxes to continue to avoid them and corps like Amazon won't be paying 70% for sure. An unfortunate situation, but address those first maybe.

These climate change projects she wants to fund includes few details outlining how to get there.
A 10-year federal infrastructure and jobs plan to neutralize the United States’ output of greenhouse gas emissions, adopt 100 percent renewable electricity and reduce widening income inequality.
Sounds great but remember Obamas attempt? Reinvestment Act. Green companies received billions in taxpayer dollars, ended badly. These companies often failed and their leaders pocketed the cash rather than actually create jobs and green energy sources.

It's like these people can't fucking understand shit that's been known about economics for over a century.

Great, so we agree going to 70% marginal tax rates is a silly idea.

It very well could be. But saying that it's the same thing as what failed Socialist and communist states did is also silly.

Let's stop with the fear mongering

Uhh, well yeah it is. Here's a little lesson for you that you will never appreciate because you have a mental block. When a compulsory funded monopoly governed by the lowest common denominator gets more resources, more resources get wasted.

You're confusing syndicalism with socialism. Socialism is the state ownership over the means of production, and communism is the proposed stateless society on the other end of that after you've genocided all the undesirable people or thrown them into gulags and worked them to death.
The who with the what now
No one paid those rates back then.
No one pays the much lower rates now.

Try again

Here's a lesson for you. Nobody thinks you're a Libertarian. We all know you are a Bircher.

Hey, how does it feel to be a morally bankrupt piece of shit and a coward? You want more people extorted out of their money... but don't want to be apart of the entry team that raids the people that refuse. Amiright or amiright?

They don't coincide. There weren't any world wars between 1950 and 1980.

And, yes, I have. It was written by a Trotsky-sympathizing socialist, as I'm sure you know.
The steepest increases on the graph you posted occurred in the teens and mid 30s (during or leading up to ww1 and 2), with a peak in the mid 40s (concluding ww2), and remained high through the 50s and 60s (something something cold war)

War is peace! Long live the party!

That last post hurt I can see.

"You thought this was a rebuttal" lol

Real talk. You want to extort people out of their money, but you don't want to be apart of the violence as an explicit threat or action that carries the extortion out.

Must make a lot of sense to you to file a suit to the institution that's complicit in the extortion, yes?
