Casuals could give two shits about a lot of what the UFC does, but the UFC still does it. That includes giving bonuses to someone who is the clearly the beneficiary of shoddy matchmaking and the UFC's push to make money at the cost of their fighters' well-being.

The voters determine the rankings. The UFC publishes them.

A lower ranked fighter will sometimes beat the higher ranked fighter. It doesn't make the rankings "ridiculous".

If it was a legit division with legit contenders, I'd agree, give them a huge bonus for finishing. But WBW is not a legit division, rewarding the champion for drubbing girls who clearly don't deserve a title shot is throwing away money.

You've obviously assigned some definition to "performance" that's faulty. Davis hadn't been finished in 5 yrs, iirc, and was the number one contender. Ronda took care of that shit in 16 seconds. Go ask Alex if she was impressed.

Just because Ronda is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the division doesn't mean you get to discredit her performances or that the division is weak. It just means Ronda is a boss. Deal wid it.

If the #2 ranked fighter in the division, who was on a 5-fight winning streak, "didn't deserve to be in the cage with her," then who does? You're saying Ronda doesn't deserve to be recognized, or to be paid, for being great because she's so great? This is ridiculous. Davis has been fighting as a pro for 7 years, she has a black belt in BJJ, she's won 16 fights. Ronda, who has been fighting for half as long as Davis, smashed her in 16 seconds. It was the epitome of the title "performance of the night."
