I don't think Hall did enough to deserve it, but fighting through an obvious injury is more deserving than running through an opponent who didn't belong in the cage with you.

His opponent was also a very good striker.
If Ronda had tooled Davis on the ground, yeah that's a better reason for the bonus

You're not getting it though.

Ronda should be a -600 favourite to virtually any woman in her division. The only person I can see getting better odds is MAYBE (like 25% chance) Zingano.

No dude, he is completely correct here. It was NOT the majority of Sherdoggers saying Alexis was gonna take the fight to a decision or show her real grappling. For the majority it was pretty clearly understood that this was a sideshow freak fight. A minority suggested that Alexis had a chance of taking the fight to a decision, and some of those who were in the minority were clearly just making futile attempts to reassure themselves. Can you find threads where the majority of posters said they felt confident Alexis was gonna take the fight to a decision of show Ronda what *real* grappling is all about?

Yes, she did. For the same reason why she earned a bonus for this one. She dispatched of one of the top contenders in her division in just seconds, almost flawlessly.

Freakshow fight? I wasn't confident in Davis' chances either after she showed lackluster explosiveness in her previous UFC bouts, but nothing about this fight was a freakshow fight. Alexis Davis earned the right to be considered the top contender in the division with Zingano still hurt and McMann quickly defeated. It may not have been competitive, but that doesn't make it a freakshow. If someone else on the UFC roster was more deserving of the shot, I'd love to hear their name.

P.S. If someone doesn't deserve performance of the night bonus just because they were way better than their opponent, when that opponent was the best available challenger, then I don't know what to tell you. Brains made of mush. You act as if this was Daniel Cormier vs. Patrick Cummins. Davis was the #1 contender with Zingano out.

UFC rankings are utter nonsense and used to justify and hype their title shots. People are congratulating R3 for fighting so often and defending her title, but now she's just fighting because the UFC wants to milk the cash cow. If they can't find worthy competition, they'll elevate unworthy fighters to higher ranks to justify feeding them to R3.

so you are complaining that ronda is way above her competition? I don't see how that is her fault or a bad thing. Just bc she is ahead of the competition does not mean she shouldn't get paid. Who else is left that can challenge her?
