Alexis Davis is a legit top-five 135 who has fought most of the best in that division and beaten a good percentage of them. The gap between Ronda and everyone else is huge, but it's not like Davis was a bad choice among the available options for a title fight. Of the remaining top women that Rousey hadn't beaten, she was certainly one of the best, if not the best.

UFC rankings are utter nonsense and used to justify and hype their title shots. People are congratulating R3 for fighting so often and defending her title, but now she's just fighting because the UFC wants to milk the cash cow. If they can't find worthy competition, they'll elevate unworthy fighters to higher ranks to justify feeding them to R3.

If you're going to throw around crap that brings rankings into the discussion, such as whether or not somebody deserves to be in the cage with the champion of a division, prepare to be called out when you're absolutely wrong.

Alexis was consensus Top 5 fighter, none of the ones I've seen have had her below 4 and quite a few had her right under Ronda, including Sherdog's own rankings and Fight Matrix.

Apart from Cat Zingano, who's currently injured, Alexis was the best challenger for Ronda. She's a great fighter, has shown a lot of skill in her previous fights including dominating Liz Carmouche, and she's the only top 5 fighter (again, other than Cat who's injured) that Ronda hasn't beaten already.

Please, explain to me how she's unworthy and who actually IS worthy if the only non-injured, non-rematch top 5 fighter isn't worthy.

Alexis Davis looked like she was in a different weight class with no way to threaten. The odds were -1200 or something, sorry, this was a freak show fight.

When you have a fighter as impressive as Rousey in a shallow weight division the odds will look like that sometimes.

Davis was on a five fight win streak... that gets you a legit shot at the title in my books. Freak show is not a legit description for this matchup.
