So I quit nicotie since last monday. Was smoking 0.3% nicotine vape. Smoked for 7-8 years, cigarettes, one use vape and re fill vapes.

So day 8. Still feeling slightly depressed, nothing major, just not excited or happy, slightly negative. However what truly pisses me off is how my energy and strength in the gym has instantly decreased.

Went from 110 kg bench press x 7 to 90 kg x 7 within 3 days. Like instantly lost strength.

Never feeling energised, always slightly fatigued or call it off.

Does this take forever to be strong again ?

Who went trough this while working out.

Yes and it's nasty. Did that monday. Doesn't taste good. I'm not smoking at all.
Well at least if it won't put you back in an addiction cycle...i didnt know it could exist without nicotine.

Use Zyn, bro
No I'm getting off the nicotine. Use zyn and than what ? Stop using it ? I vaped 0.3% nicotine liquid, a elf bar got 2%, so I already vaped the lowest possible dose. Now it's stopping entirely. Just checking in if anyone else had their gym performance decreased by a lot ? I don't got any headaches. Jusy slightly depressed mood and less energy.
It's all ok just what pisses me off that I can't properly work out and get stronger as I would like to.

It tastes gross without nicotine.

Well I've gotten over thc so this is easy. Cause I lowered it from pack of malboro gold and real vapes 2% nicotine salt to just 0.3% liquid and an occasional real cigarette from friends.

Now the factor is gonna be temptation. To grab one here there. That is a mistake. Cause than you crack and buy a whole pack.

Just anyoing now that I'm not working for still a bit and got time and started excercising hard the last 2 weeks, I just feel off. Well I'm gonna go to the gym now. MaybeI'll gradually get stronger and stronger. Lol after +7 years stopping. But for 30 years I wasn't even a smoker. Was talking bout quitting the day I startrd smoking a bit. Quitting is never easy. But universe of difference when it's 0.3% liquid or a pack of malboro reds. A pack of malboro reds are gon a kick your ass so bad. Tapper of works for me. But now gotta kick it completely.

Can't lend any advice with working out other than you'll get your mojo back when your lungs have cleaned out.

Probably the best thing I've ever done was quitting. 30 year habit which ended up sometimes a pack a day.

Nothing like a bit of the c word to give you a wake up call, I'd tried patches and quit for a few weeks but cold turkey was the only thing that worked.

Best of luck, Sherbro :)

Most people try to quit ass backwards or with no logical approach, to poor results. You have to decouple your habitual triggers as you wean or you're basically just blindly white knuckling and hoping it sticks. If you do it properly, the temptation doesn't exist by the time you fully kick.

Now the temptation is gonna be seeing people who smoke. I avoided it the last days. Eventually gonna be around smokers again. It's Germany. So many people smoke. A lot.
Just brace the pain and get a reward.
Weaker into stronger.

There's no magic stop button. You adjust your habits and triggers to avoid temptation as much as you can. There will be a good period of time after quitting where you will get tempted or crave nicotine. In those cases, it's best to distract yourself and sometimes you just have to tough it out.

I quit after about 20 years. The key for me was really wanting to quit as opposed to just knowing I should. Maybe that sounds like nonsense but it's the best that I can describe it.

There is a period of time before you kick that you're going to want to limit exposure to social or societal pressures, when you're still vulnerable and potentially influenced by it. Especially if it's a drinking environment and you're partaking. That makes your goal much harder to achieve. This was an issue for me too. You have to factor that in to your plan. But by the time you do quit, if you've carried out the steps to eliminate from your life and your needs, being around it shouldn't be an issue. And just being honest, a few relapses are expected. I had quit solid for nearly a year before my first relapse. Happened a few more times. Eventually I was really ready to move on. It takes time.

What's funny is I needed to develop a system, draw it all out and it took me years to fully quit for good. When I began this process my wife who smoked as much as I did was like, I'm just gonna quit. I thought no way, it won't work, but she did. She dropped it just like that. So I mean some people can do that. But most can't and need to come up with their own plan.

I used the patch and a nicorette vape thing to get me over the 3 month hump. Been about 6 years, cant recall an urge since.

You have to literally WANT to quit. Angrily, want to quit. If there is any voice telling you why you enjoy smoking, you aren’t ready. When you’re fed up wasting that kind of money and slowly killing yourself you’ll make it happen.

Tough but definitely doable. Don’t give up.
