Media Colby Covington greets Kamaru Usman at the UFC Apex

He’s probably ditching the shtick little by little as he nears retirement.

I find him very insecure for some reason, especially in the interview with Nina.

he is very cringe character. Would be better if he did not do this fake trash talk, and just fought...

From what I've heard, behind the scenes he's nothing like what he acts on instagram and press conferences. He sounds pretty bland to be honest, which is probably why he needed the gimmick to have his career go anywhere.

I expect he'll drop all this stuff once he retires, which won't be far away. There won't be any point to it. It's not going to keep making him money.

Someone like Jones will be still being an ass for like 10 years after he retires, but he'll have actual championship reigns and records to back his words up. That'll help him sell seminars and whatever else he wants to do.

Colby has none of that. He never won a belt or anything, and his gimmick isn't going to help him sell seminars and the like. No one's paying for him to come teach somewhere and just act like an ass. The only spots it might work is if he's at press conferences or something, but there won't be any reason for him to be at any of those anyway.

I think he's gonna get real irrelevant really quick. He basically already is.

Colby the gentleman -- could've gone full buffet-line retard like Marty and Ali --

but chose peace and brotherhood instead.

Always has been. That's why he's a cringey shmuck. Trying to portray something rather than organically just being. He didn't mature out of the theatrical stages of childhood.

Nailed it. "Security" (in oneself)/confidence is being yourself in front of everybody.

Insecurity is playing another persona, so that the "real" you isn't the one that's ever doing something wrong, or being criticized.

Shercologist, is that like a sherdog proctologist?

He actually seems very comfortable for the first time

I don't know what the fuck an "ad-hoc master streamer" even is, mate. Like, the Pewdipie guy?
I wasn't familiar with Pewdipie guy but just looked this up. Yeah someone like that where your ability to speak articulately on demand puts you in a position to pass judgement on others.

Colby has had 5 fights in 5 years only winning against Woodley and Masvidal and is now nearer to 40 than 30. its over

Well, I'm decent enough at talking articulately on demand about a few select subjects that I'm an expert at. I suppose most people are.

Colby, on the other hand, is pretty bad at this stuff, despite having spent so much time on it. You'd think he'd be a lot better by now if it was something that was really part of his normal personality.

Maybe this just isn't something he actually cares about, and only did for marketing. That really wouldn't surprise me at all. There's been times when he's sounded very over it all.

Also, when I googled what "Ad hoc streamer" was, first thing that came up was "a shared stream processing framework or a wireless network that allows for easy connections between devices"

I was like, "what the fuck is this getting at?" haha.

You can tell Colby is trying to be nice and I think he's a good dude. He talked shit about Kamarus dad though. There's some things time or fights don't heal. And Kamaru can be a pretty kind and pro person

So this goes out to Conor, Colby, anyone. Leave family out of it. I get it you want to sell the fight but it leaves lasting impressions. It may even be considered low and cheap

Colby should be thanking Usman, the highlight of his career is when Kamaru broke his jaw and had him running out of the arena hiding his face like Ronda.
