I've been training Dutch kickboxing seriously for about 2 months now. I usually train twice a week, but sadly I broke my right index finger last week in motorbike crash. It was pretty bad and there's a bad crack in the bone. The doctor says I'm out for at least another 3-4 weeks. I busted my knee pretty bad too, but they said I have to rest it for 1 more week. Now I'm afraid that if I let my body rest for so long that my cardio will be gone by the time I can start training again.

My question is, what can I do to prevent that? I normally do rope-skipping and jogging between training days, but I don't want to fuck my knee up any worse until it's completely healed (like my brother who kept on training and is now paying the price).

(First post and thread by the way.)

You're better off resting, recovering and losing your cardio but coming back later and making a full recovery than you are pushing through nasty injuries.

Trust me.

If it was just your hand id say run. If it was just your knee is say swim.

It's both though. Heal up and come back rested and hungry to train hard.

Thanks. I'm pretty much dying to get back in the gym, I guess I'll have to sit these injuries out.
