Question for Cat Folks

My cat drinks from a bowl.. If I have a cup of water (for me) by my bed or sitting around the D!ck will jump up, stick his paw in the cup to make sure water is in it, then drink from that until I catch him or yell at him. Hes afraid of running water... If I run water and hes around he takes off...

but what do Cat People drink

Yorkshire terrier blood works for me

Yeah, and a lot of vet's will still recommend cat's be put on dry food actually. Has to do with that whole tie between vets and cat food brands.

Sorry about your kitty ):
That would piss me off so bad, to know you were doing the good thing for your cat but changed it because you thought somebody that knew better was putting you on the right path for their health /: *sigh*

On a brighter note, my current vet is probably one of the best vets on the planet. I have a story but it's really long and complicated, but it illustrated how bad some vets are and how important it is to have a good one. If you have a great one, tell everyone.

This is an incredible place to bring your animals in Montreal.

ever wonder how many times ur cat uses litter box, then snuck up and dipped paw in ur water that u never knew about, then u drinked the water after? i dont because i knew about this game cats play and i remain ever vigalant and only drik from bottles, i dont want ass worms.

Cats, unlike dogs, primarily get their water from their prey. When thirsty, they will drink water. People that feed dry food see their cats drink from a bowl often because their cats are not getting it from their food. Dry food is, for the most part, terrible for them. They much prefer their water to be moving and they're very sensitive to chlorines and chemicals in the water so they'll choose stank gutter water to what we think is clean. Of course, they will adapt to whatever is available but most people have no clue what cats actually prefer or what is healthy for them

My cat doesn't give a fuck about chlorine, I have to use RO water for the dog though.

Once upon a time vets recommended dry over wet. I fed my cats Science Diet for years and one died of liver failure. The vet told me I should be feeding my cats wet food and I was pretty frustrated. In early days I fed them wet and changed to dry on a vet's recommendation.

I bet the vet that told you to use dry food also sold you that Science Diet. If a vet sells food in his office, walk away.

Science diet has wet food too.

It's still crap. Science Diet is one of the worst ones out there. The reason you see it at vets is because they get payed to carry it.

Cats certainly prefer moving water or fresh water (ie your glass you just put down you dick animal). My cats love their water fountain and it's incredibly important for male cats especially to be very well hydrated. Male cats are very prone to for crystals in their urine which can be extremely painful and causes blockages and death.

I've never been around anyone with a cat that kept "running water" for the cat to drink.
I had a cat that loved drinking water from the faucet. But I would drink water from a bowl too.

and that's exactly what happened to my last cat at age seven. I didn't even realize he had an issue until it was too late. He had plenty to drink, but the vet said it could have been from the food he ate or even the litter.

My cat always used to run out to the driveway after the rain, to drink from the little puddles.

Our cat will only drink from a cup and we have to fill it to the rim and place it on the table.

We almost had a cat die from this

They drink from bowls.

Some have weird habits though. When I was growing up, we had a fuck load of cats in the house. Some dipped their paws in the water, and sipped from them. Some splashed the water on the floor, and drank from the puddles. A couple drank from the tap if it was on. One wouldn't drink from the community bowls, so you had to give him his own dish.

Cats, man.

Ever wonder how recently a dog just licked it's balls and asshole, before it licked your face?

It's best not to think of these things.
