International Qatari air base in Idaho?

H but I have a 2 year old. When I vote I base it on who is less likely to fuck up the future. Just not seeing a very bright future for America anymore and it's insane how many people can't recognize that.
Let the kid vote for you
You’re clearly overthinking it

I meant there is no medical conspiracy where they arent trying to cure disease.

Yeah I'm not sold on it because those researching cures are often separate bodies.

But if you incentivise heel-dragging, heels will be dragged.

But the thing about conspiracies particularly medical conspiracies is that you would have to get the entire world to drag their heels. You have thousands upon thousands of researchers in both basic research and clinical setting working on the same diseases. I think Americans fall into this conspiracy because they think science is only done here in the states. There is great research being done all over the world in the same field as anything that's done in America . Not to mention that if you were a company that would cure a major disease like cancer you would automatically become the largest pharmaceutical company to ever exist. It's just foolishness to think that way. I think people that speak on it have never worked in science. At Merck we had a 100 million per year budget for cancer research. In the 7 years I was there we didn't deliver a single drug to Market. And Merck almost shut down the research. You're dealing with cells that are your own body but don't respond normally due to their mutations. It is a very complex disease. For instance, cancer cells will produce immunosupressor interleukins like IL-10 which prevent an immune response to the cancer. Its just a remarkable disease so when people speak on it like something is held back I just laugh.

I agree, there are so many bodies researching cancer that there's no way to silence them all, even if many are sponsored by corps.

You don't think they have a cure for cancer? I wouldn't be surprised if they did and keep it only for the elites. How much money would be lost on cancer treatment if there was a cure? How many jobs lost? I'd hope that saving lives would be the primary purpose of all the research, but we all know those companies want to keep that money coming in. Anyway, just my random rant for today lol.

Lol. I put my tinfoil hat on when I got up today brother. After seeing the way COVID was handled and them threatening people's livelihood unless they got the jab, I wouldn't put anything past them. Didn't matter if you were pregnant, you better take this shot with all sorts of side effects if you want to continue providing for your family. Your kid is only a year old? Better get them the shot even though the chances of COVID taking them out was miniscule. One thing is for sure, these companies don't give a shit about your wellbeing.

Well, no, since the elites actually get cancer themselves.

Steve Jobs was as elite as anyone, right up there with Musk and Trump.

Good point lol! On a side note, my wife's grandpa cured a skin cancer spot on his ear himself with Epsom salt. Well, that or either it just disappeared on its own(not sure if that's something that routinely happens or not). Every day he would soak a rag in water with Epsom salt dissolved in it. Then he would put the rag over the cancer spot for a few hours each night. After 5-6 months of this, the spot disappeared. Anyway, I don't know where I was going with this story. I'll leave the cancer discussion to others lol.

That's good though.

There are stories of some cancers going away. Goodness knows why.

I'm pleased that happened though!

There is a lot wrong with your assessment but I won't get into it since it's off topic ITT, except to say that it has been shown that children who get COVID a second time double their chances of "long Covid" and that, as you may or may not know, the severity of long COVID symptoms is not necessarily tied to the severity (or lack thereof) of the initial infection. I.e. you can still have very nasty long COVID symptoms even if you were asymptomatic when you got infected in the first place. Children definitely should be vaccinated. Long story short: the likelihood of serious harm from a COVID infection is far far greater than that of the vaccine.

On the other hand, further to your main point, one certainly has to wonder why Trump cut medical research funding and wants to outlaw mRNA research altogether, just as it is showing very great promise in treating cancer. Yet he has no issues taking COVID vaccine booster shots twice a year.

With everything going on at the moment, it at least needed to be shelved. People here keep ridiculing me for pointing out that farmers are going out of business like I'm making it up and everyone's fine.

They aren't fine. We're in a flippin nightmare.
holy goalpost shift

I'd prefer to take my chances with COVID. I'm not against vaccines or anyone that wants to get them. I'm glad they are available. COVID was pretty mild for my family, thankfully. My grandma was hit the worst, but she was 89 with comorbidities. Her dementia seemed to accelerate rapidly following the illness.

"Cancer" is such a broad term. Getting skin cancer sliced off isn't the same as metastatic cancer. Rich people get early treatment for cancer because they don't have to worry about the cost. People living paycheck to paycheck are less likely to go to the doctor unless something gets bad. It's not that there is a 100% cure, it's just that people with money get better treatment.

My step dad and I were thankful my mum died before Covid, her last weeks were in a care home being her brain cancer was so bad she didn't really know what was going on, not being allowed to see him every day would have made what was already a heartbreaking situation much worse.

Damn, I hate to hear of anyone losing a loved one. But you are right, it is easier to handle when you know she at least was able to be around your step dad and other family in her last days. I can't imagine how it must've been for those who had their family members pass all alone. When Grandma was in the hospital, we had to stand outside and look at her through the window while we spoke via phone. Thankfully she wasn't on the verge of death or anything and she made it a few more years. We lost her this August.

I'm sorry to hear that, matey.
Thankfully she was with it enough to understand what was going on and you all got to love her for a few years after :)
