I've always been one to believe that fighters really don't have the final say in who they fight and when it goes down. I've brought this up in past boxing threads and people would vehemently respond "Bullshit! It's ultimately up to the fighter rabble rabble rabble", as if they've ever managed a fighter or been behind those scenes themselves. That just doesn't seem likely to me.

It's also why I don't knock the fighter themselves (ala Canelo v. GGG) when it seems like one is "ducking" the other, because I know it's likely the team making all the real decisions in the background.

How correct am I in my speculation? @RR

I like it but it does depend on the fighter.

1. You can see it in sparring really quick. Their reflexes are gone. Even when a guy is only a half second slower it is really obvious. They tend not to pull the trigger on punches they would normally throw also. Work ethic normally declines too

3. Weight was not an issue but ring rust definitely was. It doesn't matter who you are you can't be that inactive and be sharp. Ward needs to fight twice a year and get quality sparring. Remains to be see if he does (I have my doubts like everyone else)

4. Need to get with a good trainer you are comfortable worth first and foremost who will give you personal attention on a daily basis. They will be able to guide you in the right direction stylistically.

5. No chance it will ever happen and I don't like it. You would see some in ring deaths imo

Also being a fellow degen I have a couple fighters who I like solely b/c I've made some nice money betting on them several times in the past, do you have any fighters you like not b/c you're a fan but just b/c they've made you money in the past?

15k on BHop/Pavlik

I like him too @Seano (gotta tag him in anything BHop related) but that guy has made me a ridiculous amount of money over the years. I have actually joked with him about it many times and he loves every second of it.
