ive been to thailand 8 times now and sinbi is the only camp ive bothered to go back to.... 5 times

but if you wonna train your hands then sor vorapin 2 is worth a shot
 
i was wondering about bringing supps into Thailand, i heard it might be difficult to do. i was planning on bringing a kilo of beta alanine, 7-10 lbs of carb powder, omega 3's, glutamate, multi vitamin and possibly more depending on how expensive things are in Thailand. how much should i expect to pay for some whey powder and some bcaa's in phuket? are there a good variety of supplements for sale? that may seem like a lot but i will be there 3 months
 
It would be far cheaper to bring your own, or order online and have them shipped to Thailand.
 
thanks for the heads up, as long as they are sealed should i be fine getting them into thailand?

this should be close to the last question... any one who has been to tiger mt, any reviews on the protein drink bar? whats the average price? I'm trying to figure out if i should have those for breakfast and then do there meal plan as well or if thats not going to be enough...

any of you who have been to train in Thailand already, did you feel like you didn't bring enough money? did you think it was going to be cheaper then it really turned out? i thought i would have more than enough but now im not so sure

Hey buddy, it would be cheaper to bring your own supplements because the GNC in Thailand is heavily effected by the import/ export tax laws. Every time I visit Thailand my family and friends ask me to buy vitamins and supplements from stateside. Here's an example: I bought 2 bottles of vitamins for the heart (called Q-10, or something) from GNC for $63. In BKK the price of the same product at GNC for 1 bottle was over $78. I brought 10lbs of protein with me to BKK. Best thing to do is go to Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site. and order Optimum 100% Whey Protein.
 
The rules about bringing supplements in have gotten tighter recently. I've heard of people having to forfeit their supps at the airport. Steppingrazor, if you're going to TMT, ask them. They'll know what the current rules are.

WTF are you talking about? Thailand has GNCs, and steroids are legal to sale in pharmacies so why wouldn't the airport customs allow passengers to bring legal supplements into the country? Listen to me, I know what I'm talking about. I brought 2 suitcases (50lbs each) full of vitamins and supplements. I flew into BKK airport on June 2, 2009 and customs never even questioned why I had 2 suitcases (All my clothes were in my carry-on bag) full of vitamins, protein powder, creatine, etc, etc, etc. It's ok to bring supplements! The worst thing you can do is listen to someone who "heard this about that". Don't base your decisions off information you heard through the grapevine.

The poster did say rules have changed recently and although I haven't heard anything about that, who knows.

I haven't brought supplements into Thailand in years, but when I did, I brought about three unopened containers (in my check-in baggage, not my carry-on) of supplements into the country and didn't have a single problem.

Actually, steroids are not legal in Thailand. They are widely sold and used, and the police rarely pay attention, but that isn't the same as legal. Body Research (a Bangkok manufacturer of some excellent human grade gear) was busted by the Thai FDA equivalent, and shortly after this bust, many of the pharmacies went low key on steroid sales.
 
My friend just brought a 5lb tube of protein into Thailand last week with no problems.
 
I am planning to visit Thailand in the fall of 2009, and have been scouring the internet for about 2-3 hours a day for useful information. I have found a lot of great information, and also a lot of useless information.

I have been following this thread, and noticed that there are a lot of questions about where to stay, how much it costs, are the rooms quiet or noisy, what is near by, etc...

I found a great link that provides all that information in specifics for most areas of Thailand, and it was a great deal of help to me, so I thought that I would post it for others. The link gives places to stay by area, current prices with conversions, owner information posts, customer reviews, and something that I found really useful was people who have stayed at these locations, post their own traveller taken photos of the places, as we all know some businesses tend to post older or in some cases doctored photos.

Also, if you find a place that you like, and click the map it link, it will open a new window (Expedia) that will show a map, and tell you all the attractions that are near the location, and the exact distance they are from the location.

Now let me say, "I am not affiliated with this site in any way, nor am I recommending their services. In fact, I will probably book my stay directly through the hotels where I plan to stay to avoid any confusion. I just found it really useful during my extensive searches for information, and thought I would pass it along." It should just about alleviate any questions to a great extent about places (outside training camps) to stay.

i really appreciate the info man, i definitely plan on bringing my own supplements then. i read the other comment about restrictions getting tighter so i contacted tiger and they said as long as the containers have been unopened i shouldn't have any issues. i just realized i have f*cked myself with money so i cant risk spending $100 for 20 days worth of protein or something..

have you been to tiger? if so do you have any input on this as well

never been to chang mai but i here good things from people who have been to lanna, also heard bad things but that applies to all camps.
some people you just cant satisfy because according to them they no everything.
