One of my favourite matches of last few years was the first Goldberg V Lesnar. Sudden, violent, intense and highly unpredictable.

WWE’s golden era in the late 80s, early 90s was littered with great wrestlers who had guys like Bobby Heenan and Jimmy Hart as a mouthpiece.

Then again this is modern day WWE, where everything is devoid of intensity and it is expected of everybody on the roster to recite bland scripts in front of a thousand or so bored spectators in the stands, and the millions watching at home who just watch it because they used to as kids and are too invested in the product to give up on it now.

Guys like Alistair Black can get their personality over in the ring, but they tend to lose their mystique by talking. Why not highlight the positives instead of pushing forward the weakness?

Because you can't give every Japanese guy the same exact gimmick. This is something that Japanese wrestling watchers say about every guy coming to the WWE. From Itami to Nakamura. "Just needs to be a silent bad ass."

If they all need a Paul Heyman, then what's the point? What happens when manager isn't around anymore?

Itami has been a "silent bad ass." What good has that done for anyone? What's his actual character? That's not even a gimmick.

It's just lazy and boring as fuck.

Okada would be the second best wrestler in WWE.

hard to believe the face of a company once jobbed to Steven Richards.

But Steven Richards won a royal Rumble and won the world title in the wrestlemania main event going over triple h and Shawn michaels. He’s not some jobber that would be in the job squad or bwo or something.

Do you think Jericho will fuck up his own angle? Pretty clear Gedo is basically letting them do whatever the hell that they want in the build up. I am really looking forward to the match now, considering Kenny basically said he was gonna fight Jericho. I don't really ever remember Kenny saying anything like that in NJPW.

Hopefully its better than AJ/Jericho bc that was lackluster.

The "they" I was referring to was more NJPW. Good to hear that Gedo letting them have at it. It shows.

as much as I hated that guy I would probably cheer for him if he wrestled hhh these days.

Kayfabe: big in Japan

So WK is their version of WM, right? How many butts in seats? How many ppv buys?

I have no faith in Jericho to put on a great match anymore.

Pretty good is about the best one can hope for. I mean, the dude is like 50.
