Tommy Rich was in the FBI in ECW, right? I know that was way later than his NWA title run.

68, huh? I'll owe her one...

That Lana/Enzo/Rusev segment was great.

Cass vs Rusev should be fun.

Yea but that was after 15 years of alcohol and drugs
In '83 he was legit the hottest star in the business

Dunno if I agree with Piper being no.1, really. I never fully dug his promo style. I think he and Ultimate Warrior just warbled on about shite, didn't have much depth to it. But, that is just my opinion.

I would never have Piper as #1 either but his work in 84 and 85 WWF is why hes so beloved imo
He was at the top of his game then and was so great on the mic
Vince couldve chose anyone in the business to be the top heel and go against Hogan during the national expansion and he chose Piper cause his mic work was the best in the business and he was so easy to hate
After that he started to fall off and get worse and worse and within a few years was really terrible

Check out some of his old local promos for the WWF during 84 and 85 and its pretty easy to see why hes held in such high regard though

Oh, I know his stuff with Hogan and, even before that in Mid-Atlantic was far better than his later work, it just seems odd to me that he is put above guys like Flair, who were/are pretty consistent in their greatness.

Who would all of you guys put as greatest talkers, either in that same time frame (70s - mid-90s) or, all time?

Cornette is #1 by a mile for his work during the Midnight Express run in JCP
After that I got Heenan, Terry Funk, Nick Bockwinkel, Flair, Ventura, Piper and Jake Roberts all lumped in together

Im probably the only person in the world that thinks this but I loved Tony Schiavones work in JCP

I'm starting to feel better so I'm looking to build my home gym now. I priced for about $350 a good solid bench, bar, plate tree, recumbent bike (easier on the knees) and a couple hundred pounds of plates. Essentially I think I'll be able to hit everything I used to go to the gym for and after cancelling the membership will end up paying for itself in less than a year.

What was wrong with you?
