PWD 341: Don't Shoot Yourself Into a Work

This coming from the same guy who said last Monday that the fans are so smart they were inspired by Seth Rollins's promo where he was basically calling them assholes for booing his match the night before. The same fans chanting "you deserve it" to Finn Balor. He's been on the roster 5 minutes and got hurt in his first match, he doesn't deserve shit.
This post is indecipherable

Wwe rationale
Roman busted for taking adderall due to the schedule. Make him apologize to locker room and bury him live infront audience.
Seth
Injures multiple stars, injures himself is out months costing wwe. Comes back injures new babyface in their first match. Calls out fans on social media
Next night - titleshot granted

Smh

I think Dean needs to turn, his slow not very explosive grinding style would be great to get a babyface like Styles even more over. Dean seems to be more natural as the mean weirdo that will do whatever it takes heel since he lacks athleticism or mass. Would you be ok with this RSR?
No I like his current character and it's nice to cheer the guy I'm "supposed to". His feud with Ziggler was everything he should be though. Ambrose doesn't look like a face and there is just something untrustworthy about him so I liked him being a lot more aggressive but still being morally good. The way he straight up told Dolph that you're just not good enough and clowned him for most of the match was perfect. Granted he can't do that with everybody but it was the perfect program to start his run and make him look good so I'm hoping they keep it dialed in that direction at least.

Ambrose is good in the anti-hero role. Not to compare him to Stone Cold, but Austin stayed over as a face without be all golly gee babyface. You can have an edge and still be a good guy.

I don't think so. Look at AJ. Been pushed to the top since day 1. Fans like him. Seth has been pushed for a while now. They haven't turned on him. Dean? Nope. Brock? Nope(and he's a part-timer FFS).

I think the anti-neckbeard brigade likes to cherry pick examples when it fits their narrative. I mean really, all they have for this theory not including Cena, is Roman and Batista. That's it. Two guys who were forced down the fans throats, when there were better options. Two guys who absolutely sucked in the roles they were given.

Creative fucked Roman up, not the fans. If they had just kept him as a dominant ass-kicker(ALA Brock), and not this "against all odds" wise-cracking Cena clone, I guarantee he would still be a big fan favorite.

The problem is that when creative see somebody get over by themselves, they attempt to capitalize on it by modifying that character into the typical babyface role that everyone is sick of. It didn't fit a juggernaut like Roman Reigns, at all. It won't work with Big Cass either. If anything, it works with the smaller wrestlers who are more creative on the stick.

Keep the characters how they are and they should not suffer. Do not try to make the next John Cena.

Any one thought joe vs Naku is a top 1-5 match this year? The others i can think of is joe vs finn cage match and aj vs cena at summerFest.

Wasn't even the best match on that show.

WWE tried to insert Roman into Bryan's spot as the plucky underdog that the Authority was holding down, and that was clown shoes stupid. For a year they told Bryan he wasn't cut out to be the face of the company because he wasn't all the things that Reigns obviously is. But then Reigns isn't what the Authority want because ... uh ... reasons.

Excellent point. I didn't go for Dean Ambrose as my favorite of the Shield cause "hey he killed himself for $50 a night so he loves this!". Never watched CZW in my life, never heard of Jon Moxley, didn't even watch him in NXT. Just liked his character. I'm sure there are a ton of smarks out there who anointed Seth and Dean "their guys" due to their backgrounds but I don't buy that as an excuse for why Roman gets boo'd.

For me, Dean Ambrose really impressed me during his feud with William Regal in FCW and his brief stint with Mick Foley. He was great in The Shield but I'm a bit indifferent to him nowadays. He seems pretty good but not must watch. Unique delivery though.

If you say so.... Chief

You seem like a nice guy for someone named Gutter...but in all seriousness if you think Poison is metal you need to be drug out to your name sake and shot before you manage to breed and contaminate the gene pool. The idea that Metallica and fraggle ass Winger are in the same subgenre of rock is so preposterous that I'm too incensed to come up with a witty response and am going to resort to calling you stupid instead. Poison and Winger metal...what the fuck do they teach in school these days!

Well Roman Reigns was white hot when he was with The Shield and honestly, I think he still would be if he had been booked the same way, or with the aggression that we have seen with him over the last few months, right out of the gate. Those godawful promos massacred him.

It's also a different time nowadays. A lot of fans respect wrestling more as an art form as opposed to a story and a lot of people know about Rusevs hard beginnings as a wrestler, or AJ Styles busting his arse for decades. Reigns was in FCW for years but FCW had limited coverage at the time, so not many people really followed him as Leakee.

From what I saw Tuesday that direction is already dead.

People are confused as to why a bunch of wrestling nerds don't want to cheer for a guy that looks like the captain of the football team.

Bubba logic when he argues against dirt sheets and then for dirt sheets in the same hour:

Posting dirtsheets often doesn't mean I think everything is real in it... I have said before that Meltzer gets trolled every now and then and that sometimes he's also in on it..

Veteran Jericho thought that Brock went real on Orton.. SURE THING, YOU GOT WORKED!

Had they decided to run with Daniel Bryan rather than create a perception that he would not be chasing the title and would not get his Mania moment, Roman would have got over as he should have.

The Smarks really turned on the company at that time and we're still seeing the vibrations from that.

We had the Cena years. It happened. So when the company shows their hand on a supposedly anointed top guy, they're going to be hesitant to support it because it might mean 5 strait years of superman push.

Let's also not forget the importance of the pants-shitting retarded booking of the 2015 Royal Rumble.

"I know how we'll get Roman over. We'll shit all over every fan favorite in the Rumble, and have Roman eliminate Big Show and Kane at the end. Yeah, that'll work. They certainly wouldn't hate him even more after that."

Oh I guess I just made up the term hair metal on my own. Just cuz that shit sucks which we agree on doesnt mean that it isnt in that family tree.

Its not thrash speed or heavy its glam but they are all sub genres of the metal tree.

Deal with it.

I never said there isnt a world of difference between the 2 dont act like I think they sound identical or I cant tell which is which

All these long time wrestling smarks getting worked in 2016 is fucking hilarious.

Wasn't even the best match on that show.

I thought that it was a lot better than other people gave it credit for, but professional wrestling has been absolutely tremendous since NXT stepped up its game.
It is why do you think those fucken neckbeard always chant" you deserve it" Vince is right fans dont know what they want Vince does.
By your example of Romans character not being good. Well you think he has a fucken say in what he can do? The dude does excellent on being told what to do yet neckbeards boo him bc they think he got it easy and no indy cred, ridiculous.

Example heath slater, shitty gimmick ( given by writers, same as Roman)but he does his best to pull it off and fans now start chanting his name. Hmm same as Roman situation but bc neckbeards know he has indy cred despite not having the body for a main event they cheer and applaud him but boo Roman. These neckbeards just need to dissapear...

Different look, different characters. Roman Reigns is a jacked, bad ass, model-like Samoan, whilst Heath Slater is a pasty white, goofy looking comedy fellow who is not built for the bad ass role. Roman isn't as relatable to the average man as Heath is.

Roman Reigns is a great wrestler with excellent presentation and a physical style. He also cannot talk for shit. I think that what he did to Rusev at Summerslam would have been great booking, if it had been done to anyone aside from Rusev.

Not as funny as Randy Orton having his head split open by Brock, only to be rewarded with a feud against Bray Wyatt.
