I just got caught up on Raw and I don't really get all the bitching in the last thread. I thought it was a pretty good show.
Roman probably cut the best promo of his career. A little heelish, short, and sweet. I loved him shooing Zayn and Styles away.
Bubba losing it on the time keeper was great.
Enzo and Cass had a great debut. Enzo was great. I've been telling you jabronis for months that these guys could be a modern era NAO on the main roster. The Dudleyz are a great team for them to start out against.
I hate Charlotte with all of my hate, but I thought she did a pretty decent job getting through that promo and dealing with the crowd. I liked the other girls just walking away when she got all heelish. Nattie vs. Charlotte is a solid short-term feud. They can have a good match, and that saves Sasha's inevitable title win for a bigger PPV.
I liked Renee interviewing the 4 guys in the main event. Made it seem like a big deal.
Crews and Corbin's debuts were good. That's a solid young face and a solid young heel added right there. Corbin especially I think has a really high upside. Crews is mega talented in the ring. If they keep him as a quiet, badass, (explosive and athletic) beast, I could see him getting over as a face for sure. Picture him coming out as a surprise challenger to a heel IC or US champion.
Miz winning the IC title was probably what I liked the least because Miz just doesn't do it for me. At least we got to look at his wife for a few minutes. Ryder's dad could teach the roster a thing or two about selling.
KO saying he was ready to move on to bigger things reminded me of Stone Cold forfeiting the IC title to Rocky back in 1997.
Cesaro was a good replacement for Zayn. I expected him to win. The only winner I wouldn't have been happy with was Jericho, so that was good. I was hoping, as much of a KO mark as I am, that it would be either Cesaro or AJ, because I like the idea of Roman facing a true babyface. Hopefully this leads to Roman proactively taking the heel role in this match. Smashing a babyface, smaller, indy darling will get serious heat, and they should be able to have a solid match.
I'm not a fan of 50/50 booking either, but I don't think it really applies to Jericho/AJ since their feud isn't over. Trading wins during a feud just makes the feud competitive. It's the lack of a blowoff/end to a feud that makes 50/50 booking bad, or just having two guys trade a win and loss and then go their separate ways. I don't think that's the case here, and I don't think AJ and Jericho are done.
As for the complaining about AJ becoming the no. 1 contender after losing the night before, what a silly thing to complain about. Last year Rollins lost at WM and then won the title later in the night. AJ didn't just get handed a title shot after a loss. Roman called out anyone who wanted some. AJ was one of the guys who responded, and then won a title eliminator.
