I dont hate freedom, I just prefer my freedom is secured by Jayce and his Wheeled Warriros, bumbling detectives with gadgets, the heroes at M.A.S.K, the Thundercats or loveable little Bert Raccoon.

Actually, no. Initially, people thought his character was lame as fuck and he was a heel, but he won them over through his great promos. Cena can keep up with The Rock when it comes to flat out insults, and making his opponent look stupid and getting the crowd on his side. Believe it or not, early Cena was the equivalent to an internet darling of sorts. A mid-carder who people wanted to get the big push.

It's when he went all Superman/GI Joe, that people started to resent him. And that was damn near a decade ago. So people are understandably a little more sick of him today.
