Mr Electricity Steve Regal passed away over the weekend

He was a longtime territories worker in the 70's & 80's who won titles from Portland to Chicago to Minneapolis to the Carolinas

He also did jobs in the WWF and WCW and was a long time top guy in the Chicago indy scene in the 90's

His biggest achievement was when him & Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin beat the Road Warriors for the AWA World Tag Team Titles in a bit of a real life swerve

This was in 1985 when the Road Warriors were the hottest tag team act in the nation and they werent about to lay down clean for two skinny little dweebs in a match that was gonna be shown on television

So promoter Verne Gagne hot the Roadies with the ole carny shim sham, they had Michael PS Hayes interfere in the match so the Roadies would do the job and agree to lose due to outside interference but when they showed the match on tv, they edited out Michael PS Hayes and made it look like Hawk & Animal lost clean LoL

Abby would never agree to lose to anyone, not even long time foe Bruiser Brody, so Gary Hart told Abby it was a best of 3 falls match so Abby went out and did the job in what he thought was only the first fall but in reality that was the entire match
