Enjoyed that smashing machine movie quite a bit.

Did Dwayne do well? I am not expecting oscar type like some dorks say, but did he actually act for the first time in ever?

Just read Smashing Machine had a $6 million dollar opening weekend, but cost $50 million to make.

Thought it was a small art house movie, didn't realize it actually had a budget, that's rough.

I guess for the blockbusters Dwayne usually makes, a $50 million budget is small

I don't think he did this one for money. I mean there is not a huge crowd for a biopic about a HW mma fighter from the dark ages.

This is the Rock taking a loss for a chance at real movies at a later date.

A24 probably expect this one to do better on streaming, which is where movies like this make the most anymore.

He was alright. Had low expectations for him, so I wasn’t disappointed. If I wasn’t an MMA fan, I’d doubt I would’ve liked it.

Huh? She was just nominated for an Oscar last year, in Oppenheimer which almost grossed a billion dollars.

Obviously not just because of her, but if you get oscar noms for billion dollar movies, you can write your own way for a little while.
