@Pittie Petey going in!

I shoot love this song. I know all the words! Please don't ever hide music like this from me again. Please and thank you 🙏🏼

Im glad you like it so much, is it a frickin amazing song, no doubt about it

I discovered that song through this Berkeley rapper named Mumbls that I was super into like 12 or 10 years ago, he was putting out hecka mixtapes and they all had the Berkeley/San Francisco alt vibe with all these weird eclectic beats from a buncha obscure bands I never heard of

He signed with Andre Nickatina and it seemed like he was about to blow up big but I guess he never did

This video is what first got me into him, song is ok but the video is a banger, recommend giving it a visual spin

Sampling can be art in itself. I find it really cool how some people just have an ear for it and can hear something then use it in an original way and make it their own.

I just recently found out that for one of Linkin Park's biggest hits they took a James Bond movie track. They reversed it and tweaked it a bit and it became an iconic opening. Here is the song if ya give a hoot

LoL, I guess I was right

Dang, I just saw a cool little thing about Linkin Park earlier today, I have never seen anything by Linkin Park ever and now I seen two things in a matter of hours!

The Synchronicity is working over time today

When I was 12 they blew up pretty big. They are kind of like Limp Bizkit where surprisingly their music still holds up. The lead singer died some time ago under some sketchy circumstances. But, yeah, everyone around my age probably loves them. Definitely a little emo tho lol

I'm sure it was just a coincidence that BTS had such a Lex Luger heavy episode this week too! Totally random!

I did not care for that Corny promo on Luger after Summerslam that they played on this weeks show
It was weird because instead of a heel promo, Corny was the heel manager doing a babyface promo singing the praises of Luger, who is the enemy!

I get what they were going for and why they did it, trying to salvage Luger after that stupid fucking title match ending at Summerslam that buried him, but it just didnt play right imo

If I make to old age one day without a coherent thought in my head, Hybrid Theory will still be rolling around the back of my mind somewhere. It's burned into my brain forever

You're right though. I don't know how it can sound so 2001 but also so timeless at the same time.

I remember the name and that they were really big for a moment but I dont remember any of their music, although I'm sure some of it would ring a bell

It was way too long. It felt like it was 5 minutes.

He could have easily said one line about how tough Luger was and how relieved he was there would be no rematch instead of drubbing on and on about it. It was a very weird tone.

I had forgot he went straight into a program with Ludvig Borga though

Life comes atcha pretty fast sometimes!

Yeah. Its a little stange how I listened to them. I fucking loved them when I was teenager. Listened to everything I could get. Then from like 18 to 30 I didnt listen to them at all for whatever reason. Started listening to them again in my 30s and loved them again. The lead singer was really talented and by all accounts a great guy. He put a ton of soul into what he did.

Hybrid Theory was the shit! Their music actually helped me a lot. By 12 I already been through a bunch of shit so the things Chester sang about was cathartic for me. It's probably why they resonated with me again in my early 30s when I was losing my mind and going through a bunch of shit again. Good Ol LP was always there for Ol Rex.

Objectively, they were probably ahead of their time with their sound which is why they still hold up today. I haven't listened to them with the female lead singer they have now. But I probably wouldn't care for it.

I do feel like their stuff was a little deeper than just "emo." Chester was obviously a man who struggled with mental health all of his life and poured it into his lyrics. They hit a lot harder than the other bands in that scene. Plus, he was so much more talented than everyone else that he could make his lyrics have that much more soul with his voice

I like her. She has a very unique and raspy voice for a female singer.

For sure. Calling them emo doesnt really do them justice. Chester's lyrics were things everyone could relate to at one point or another. Ton of pain but beauty in there, too. These tormented souls can really put out some incredible work. And his voice was definitely an instrument. He wasnt just screaming shit as loud as he could. He bared his soul for all to see. People respect that and then you add in being exceptionally talented.

I even liked Mike's side project. They only did the one album and it just gets remembered for the 20% luck, 100% skill song as a sports anthem. It had some great stuff though.

This one about the Japanese internment camps during WWII with the actual people's audio always hit hard. Such a haunting little riff.

Watched the first two episodes of the Zodiac Killer documentary series on Netflix, finna watch the final episode in a little bit, its really good, been out for awhile already but if youre into true crime and aint watched it yet, its worth a spin, although it is heavily biased towards pointing the finger at one specific suspect when there are actually a few others out there too

I always been fascinated by this case cause it was going on here in the Bay Area when I was a kid so it was obviously a hot topic of conversation for all the adults around me and on the news shows and papers

I read the book that this doc is based on when I was locked up back in the 90's and that is what pulled me all the way in on this great horrible mystery
