Done with my first grad school residential training. It was pretty fun. I have another one next January.

Im at the Sheraton Universal. 7 years ago at this hotel I relapsed. I got out of rehab and to celebrate I wanted to take the wife and kids to Universal Studios. In hindsight, it was obviously too soon to be doing things. I ended up sneaking out of the hotel room like a rat in the night and going down to the bar and slamming shots. Really disappointing actions from me and it hurt my wifea lot. Lotta a shame and guilt that trip. I didnt realize this was that same hotel until I got here. Walked by that same bar many times this week and didnt even get an urge to have a drink. Kind of a full circle moment for me. A place where I fucked up bad and gave in to my addiction but now Im back here stone cold sober working on my masters in mental health counseling Funny how life is sometimes. If you pay attention it will tell you when you are doing bad but it will also let you know when you are doing well.
