Some interesting stories from this week's Observer Newsletter.

Dave thinks Chris Jericho is done in AEW and will return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. Hopefully this isn't a classic Meltzer "things change" and us AEW enjoyers are free from the Jericho Vortex.

Dwayne Johnson and several others in WWE are big fans of Danhausen.

TNA might stop touring and possibly take over NXT's old studio at Full Sail University so they can save money. This will also help them be able to go live more often instead of always being taped.

Swerve Strickland tore his meniscus training at the PC back in 2019 and has been wrestling on it since, might take time off to get it fixed after the Forbidden Door PPV.

Will Ospreay is gonna have surgery to fix two herniated discs in his neck after Forbidden Door.

WWE did extra PLE's this year to get out of the Peacock deal early. The last two Saturday Night Main Events that are still set for Peacock won't be airing on NBC also like they usually do and are Peacock exclusive.

Triplemania had the biggest gate and merchandise sells in AAA history.
Those first two stories make me sad/mad. I want neither of those two twatwaffles in either company.

Also, I love Swerve as a wrestler, but doing that for 6 years is fucking stupid.

I'm not opposed to Jericho getting on some gas and having a 1-2 year nostalgia run to close things out. He had some really good matches with Bandido last time he was seen. Granted, Bandido is pretty damn good but it takes two to tango. So he can still turn it on when he wants to.

He just needs the parameters of WWE. When he's left to his own devices is when we get the never ending catchphrases and gimmick changes for the sake of selling a t-shirt. He's also been in terrible shape for a while.

Should he be working Cody for the title? No. But a spot where he gives the young guys 17 good minutes and maybe nostalgia IC run, sure.

Just give Jericho a Rumble appearance and HOF induction.

I have never wanted to see him work matches since 2018.

If he wants a final match, slap him on a SNME like he's Goldberg.

Don't really want, and definitely don't need Jericho in WWE. The roster is already a bit on the bloated side. I will say that a feud between him and Joe Hendry could provided some lulz.

Danhausen can fuck off to the indies and never be seen again. If WWE wants a pure comedy wrestler, they should just sign Mr Iguana to a main roster contract. At least he has La Yeska.

TNA moving to the old Full Sail would be fine I guess. Don't think they should stop touring though and I think NXT should start up again.

Swerve is tough, but that isn't bright at all.

Will should just get it done now so he doesn't risk futher injury, but wrestlers be wrestlers.

Hopefully that means that Cena's last match isn't on NBC and they can run long if needed, just to piss of Goldberg.

Poor AAA, WWE ruins everything.

Dang, Brock's daughter actually got a pretty good starter kit jumping off

Forbidden Door is in 2 days and it's at the O2 in London, probably didn't want to miss that experience. He's working a 5 v 5 cage match, so probably not a lot of bumping going on or anything.

Dave is talking about gates. WWE is doing the biggest gates everywhere they go the last year because they've raised ticket prices so much.

AAA's biggest gate ever, and I'm gonna guess they were their highest ticket prices ever.

Dave also talked about Clash In Paris being far from a sell out, but it will still end up being the 3rd or 4th largest gate in European history for WWE.

Milking fans dry ain't a good thing.

Oh I have zero doubt that ticket prices being higher is a huge factor in that "biggest gate ever" tag. However, I think WWE bringing eyeballs to AAA is a good thing for them. Hell, they are the only reason I've seen a full AAA card ever.

I wonder if they include all the taxes and fees that get charged by Ticketmaster or whatever ticket broker is being used in the dollar amount? I know that even going straight through the venue, while cheaper than a ticket service, still ended up adding about 15% to the total.

Tuned in just in time for Tiffy.....Becky Lynch was cutting a promo on Bono because it's 2003 and he is so relevant today.

Promo
Interruption
Fight
Tag team main event

@TripleH you better get Road Dogg back off the wagon so he can come up with something else.

Naw, its just lame that youre cheering on a bunch of billionaire C-suite execs getting richer by destroying something that your e-pals in here used to enjoy very much
