Is that Fred Durst in there?!
Nope but it was described as such to me. A friend who's a musician always finds these indy bands who remix wrestler themes.

They did a really good job with MJF's theme, too.

@My Spot the most interesting part of that story, as its told by Magnum TA, was that on the flight to Hawaii for the show, all the rasslers got shitface drunk and caused a ruckus on the airplane and Ric Flair was constantly exposing himself and groping the stewardesses

This was in 1985, almost 20 years before the so called WWF Plane Ride To Hell story

As my close dear personal friend @RollSonnenRoll has been known to say...

I was listening to the Experience about Hulk's passing. I can take Cornette when he's getting deep in the history of This fine Business. Anyways, they were talking about Hulk as a draw and Corny casually throws in "and gorgeous George didn't drawn in NYC." So down the rabbit hole I went! Next thing I know I'm reading a NY Times article from 1947 lol
Gorgeous George of Hollywood, wrestling's character actor, pinned rugged Ernie Dusek, veteran Ne- braskan, in 26 minutes 57 secondss of their finish bout, amid guf- Laws, boos and jeers from about 4,197 onlookers, who paid receipts of $13,957
4,000 tickets in an 18,000 seat house
<bball2>

then down a rabbit hole of a biography on him
Usually wrestling tickets ran for $1 a pop, but The Garden attempted $7.50 per patron for George, even giving George %13 of the gate, setting him up for a massive, massive payday.
The New York journalists eviscerated poor George, one scribe wrote "the removal of George's robe exposed a potbellied freak in aquamarine trunks." Author Daley, a well known writer for Times, wrote "Once upon a time there were real wrestlers like George Hackenschmidt, and Frank Gotch" the writer didn't seem to realize that Gotch and Hackenschmidt were working just like George. He would concluded saying "If Gorgeous George has not killed wrestling in New York for good and for all, the sport is hardly enough to survive a direct hit from an atomic bomb. It was the most insufferable and obnoxious performance."
the fans in attendance that night boo'd George in a way he wasn't familiar with before, this wasn't heel heat, this was a crowd who didn't take him seriously and thought he was shit. George's worst fears of not being taken seriously and just being seen as a "fairy" came to fruition in his eyes

So to sum up in NINETEEN FORTY SEVEN these greedy promoters were charging too much for tickets and wrestlers were out of shape midgets who weren't at all like the REAL men that used to compete in this sport and got "go away heat" instead of the good kind. Most likely resulting in killing The Business.

Time is a flat circle indeed.

I have heard this one before, it's good. I actually love MJF's theme but it's not on Spotify but this one was so that's what I listened to. I dig it a lot.

@RollSonnenRoll Zach Bryan just put 55,000 butts in seats in Golden Gate Park in the heart of San Francisco last night, thats impressive enough on its own but thats actually the 7th huge day of music in Golden Gate Park in two weeks

The Outside Lands Music Festival, a massive 3 day affair full of all the popular current acts and legends from just about every genre you could imagine, drew 225,000 people two weekends ago and then last weekend the Grateful Dead 60 Year Anniversary Spectacular brought in another 180,000 people during its 3 night run

Thats roughly 450,000 tickets being sold in one city in August and the months only halfway over!

Who said the concert business was dead
I still can't believe he sells out stadiums. He's an incredible musician but he just doesn't seem like a fun concert. All his songs are depressing ballads about his wreck of a life. That's great to listen to but not really experience.

He performed at some festival my sister went to last year and she said he just had a presence and aura, as the kids say, to him that even all the other performers just didn't have. She said you just couldn't help but watch him. So there must be something there.

That's insane though. Talk about moving units!

Yea, I've seen a quote from Verne Gagne where he was complaining about young upstart Greg Valentine and all his high speed moves, Greg frickin' Valentine!

I dont know if you have ever seen a Greg Valentine match but lets just say that he makes @Stargazer Rex 's beloved Peanut look like a high flying Luchador, if ya catch my drift, the man aint exactly a speedster is what I'm saying

Every single past generation says the same shit about the current stuff, including ole Pete, but I'm right, though

Peanut gets busy sometimes if the check has enough zeros, Pittie.

@My Spot I started Twisted Metal season 2. I'm enjoying but I still want more of the old characters and cars. Season was draggling a little but that first battle to Dragula was the shit. The 90's and 2000's nostalgia is really well done

Looked like a solid house for the Gathering of the Juggalos. The Juggalo Championship Wrestling vs. Game Changer Wrestling two night extravaganza at the Gathering also had a packed house both nights.

You ever been to a gathering? I’ve seen YouTube videos and it looks pretty darn wild.
