@My Spot the most interesting part of that story, as its told by Magnum TA, was that on the flight to Hawaii for the show, all the rasslers got shitface drunk and caused a ruckus on the airplane and Ric Flair was constantly exposing himself and groping the stewardesses

Usually wrestling tickets ran for $1 a pop, but The Garden attempted $7.50 per patron for George, even giving George %13 of the gate, setting him up for a massive, massive payday.

The New York journalists eviscerated poor George, one scribe wrote "the removal of George's robe exposed a potbellied freak in aquamarine trunks." Author Daley, a well known writer for Times, wrote "Once upon a time there were real wrestlers like George Hackenschmidt, and Frank Gotch" the writer didn't seem to realize that Gotch and Hackenschmidt were working just like George. He would concluded saying "If Gorgeous George has not killed wrestling in New York for good and for all, the sport is hardly enough to survive a direct hit from an atomic bomb. It was the most insufferable and obnoxious performance."

the fans in attendance that night boo'd George in a way he wasn't familiar with before, this wasn't heel heat, this was a crowd who didn't take him seriously and thought he was shit. George's worst fears of not being taken seriously and just being seen as a "fairy" came to fruition in his eyes

So to sum up in NINETEEN FORTY SEVEN these greedy promoters were charging too much for tickets and wrestlers were out of shape midgets who weren't at all like the REAL men that used to compete in this sport and got "go away heat" instead of the good kind. Most likely resulting in killing The Business.

Time is a flat circle indeed.

The Outside Lands Music Festival, a massive 3 day affair full of all the popular current acts and legends from just about every genre you could imagine, drew 225,000 people two weekends ago and then last weekend the Grateful Dead 60 Year Anniversary Spectacular brought in another 180,000 people during its 3 night run

Thats roughly 450,000 tickets being sold in one city in August and the months only halfway over!

I still can't believe he sells out stadiums. He's an incredible musician but he just doesn't seem like a fun concert. All his songs are depressing ballads about his wreck of a life. That's great to listen to but not really experience.

He performed at some festival my sister went to last year and she said he just had a presence and aura, as the kids say, to him that even all the other performers just didn't have. She said you just couldn't help but watch him. So there must be something there.

That's insane though. Talk about moving units!

I dont know if you have ever seen a Greg Valentine match but lets just say that he makes @Stargazer Rex 's beloved Peanut look like a high flying Luchador, if ya catch my drift, the man aint exactly a speedster is what I'm saying

@My Spot I started Twisted Metal season 2. I'm enjoying but I still want more of the old characters and cars. Season was draggling a little but that first battle to Dragula was the shit. The 90's and 2000's nostalgia is really well done
