They actually changed the rules for NWA title matches in St Louis because Hogan refused to be pinned in the 1st fall of a 2 outta 3 falls title match in 1981, so they switched to a single fall title match even though 2 outta 3 falls matches were the tradition going back to the 50's


The story about him and Terry Funk secretly wrestling against each other in South Africa, because they were working for different Japanese promotions, and then Hogan double crossing Terry by telling all the Japanese reporters about the match and Terry going to fight Hogan in a hotel is great, classic Hogan, never heard that before or if i did I forgot

I appreciate how all these networks start playing the best games from last season in the weeks and months leading up to the new one, most times ole Pete has no idea who won or lost so its like I'm watching it live in the middle of the season, I dig that

Meltzer also says that Brutus Beefcake was gonna write an autobiography and Hogan threatened to sue him because of what he thought Beefer might say in the book

Thats interesting because of the Hogan-Savage-jet ski black eye story, the fact that Beefcake always stuck to the jet ski story, even after him and Hogan fell out, was what made me think it could be true

But maybe Beefcake never broke kayfabe because he didnt want to deal with Hogan's high priced lawyers, gonna be interesting to see if Beefcake now comes clean about it in the future
