You don't keep a woman like this making show money, pal!

Ive never thought about it much until now but Miss Elizabeth was legit a modern day muse.

There is even ancient Greek stories of people kidnapping a muse and hoarding her. Hell, Mach pretty much did the same lol.

It was brief but I liked her promo here. They were clearly still experimenting with the presentation. She has a little bit of a heel attitude to her!

@Pittie Petey Aright, finally watched the USWA history video. Excellent detail and research.

I'm forever fascinated in how Lawler could consistently sell out arenas every weeken in the same town for 20 plus years.

I knew of the Vince stuff and early Mr. McMahon days but I still don't understand why. Was he just that bored and wanting to do something? Did he just seize the oppounity to be a heel on TV like he always wanted to?

I don't really understand his incentive to work with Lawler and send big name talent to Memphis to work shows. I know we're talking 93-96 WWF here so it's them bottoming out but it still just doesnt seem very Vince-like. Was also interesting how it didn't draw and the match with Savage and Lawler was less than 1,000 at the gate.

I always enjoy the connectivity in wrestling like Savage coming back to make shots for Jerry Jarrett again.

A great look into such an interesting territory

2011 viral internet meme Rebecca Black is playing the fancy pants 2 billion dollars basketball arena in San Francisco right now, what the fuck LoL

Lawler was obviously a huge star in Memphis and he definitely put butts in seats but the sellout thing is kayfabe, just like Bruno at Madison Square Garden, even in the 80's when they were on fire they werent selling out the Mid South Coliseum, not even for the Andy Kaufman stuff which is looked back on now as a legendary run

For the Vince stuff, I think theres a couple big reasons imo

One, Vince was under investigation by the feds and he was grooming(  bad choice of words) Jerry Jarrett to take over if he had to go do some time, no matter what Brother Brucie says

And two, Vince knew he needed to develop some kind of developmental program, he's been quoted as saying one of his biggest mistakes was putting everyone outta business cause he had nowhere to pull fresh new talent from in the early 90's, so he needed to develop a strong working relationship with the Memphis territory and keep them as strong as possible since they were the only ones left, same reason he worked with Corny & SMW and Paul E. & ECW

As for the actual Mr McMahon gimmick, I think thats exactly what it was, Vince always wanted to be a heel rassler, Dr Jerry Graham was his idol as a kid, and he was never able to live out that dream in the WWF so he said screw it and went for it in Memphis

Yea, I was surprised when they said even the big WWF stuff wasnt drawing a house at all, never thought the crowds woulda been that bad
