Since everyone is bout to start suddenly acting like a Lucha Libre expert real soon, maybe its time some of y'all took the time to learn the storied history behind this beautiful sport

By the way, Hall Of Fame Brian Last did a really great interview with Ron Skoler back on the old 605 Super Podcast all about the original WCW/AAA/IWC When Worlds Collide, its a really great deep dive into the first huge moment for Lucha Libre in America and another terrible decision by WCW(which always seems to pop the crowd here)
Ron Skoler was the promoter of the IWC which was AAA's American promotion team at the time so he was involved from the very beginning and knows where all the nuts and bolts are buried

@RollSonnenRoll @Frank23 I think you guys would enjoy this look back through the history of this fine business

Part 1 starts at about 1 hour 10 minutes

Part 2 starts at about 1 hour 50 minutes

Part 3 starts 3 hours 53 minutes

Man, those early 605 podcasts were so dang good, each one jam packed with so much great stories about the history of this fine bidness

@RollSonnenRoll I highly recommend starting at the beginning with those some day when youre in the mood for some extreme deep dives about the insane hilarious wacky and weird carny characters and interesting events that created this sport that we all know and love, even if the subject doesnt sound interesting at first, by the end of the story you'll most likely be wrapped up in it

I gotta give ole Hall Of Fame Brian credit, he produced a really great podcast for awhile before he decided to sell his soul and just become Corny's sidekick

Savio Vega has no connection to AAA or wrestling in Mexico. Is WWE pulling the "he's brown and speaks Spanish, that'll do"?<lmao>

I went to his cagematch page and apparently Savio Vega has only wrestled in Mexico 4 times ever. Last time for the WWF in 1999, and a 3 match run in UWA in 1986 <lol>

They're gonna have advertising on the folding tables now for table spots <lol>

Oh wow, this sucks, he was great as John Redcorn on King Of The Hill but also as Chief Hotate on Parks And Rec

"Does it, white man!?"

<lmao> <lmao> <lmao> <lmao>

Dang, the first voice actor that played John Redcorn also died tragically after season 1 and this guy took over in season 2 and onward.

John Redcorn might be a cursed role.

I'm going to check this out. Thank you.

“HE SNAPPED INTO A TABLE!!!” - Pat McAfee probably

Yeah, they're gonna get really tiresome with the "snapped into" bit for table spots.

This was in WWE's official announcement of the deal <lmao>

"This branded table placement will create unforgettable moments when WWE Superstars “Snap into a Slim Jim Table” during matches."

Just like the Pawnee Corn Festival!

"A Native American tribe making a deal with the government, what could possibly go wrong"

<lmao><lmao><lmao><lmao>

This is Jennifer Lopez playing Selena all over again!

🤬🤬🤬🤬

I look forward to a lot of ham fisted appreciation of Mexican culture from WWE in the coming months

"Whoa, man, JR, you gotta try these, what are they called again, gor-dee-tuhs"

"I tell ya, King, I cant get enough of these deep fried tortilla chips over here"
