I'd probably watch the original first personally. Then if you like the movie check out the extended cut. I always like checking out the extended cuts of movies I really like after seeing the original. Neat to see how the director will have to conflate ideas in the original for whatever reason then see what they really wanted to do in the extended cut. Robert Eggers probably has some interesting things in the extended cut. Gonna have to check that out. I haven't seen an Eggers movie I haven't liked. The guy really understands occult topics and is super creative with how he portrays it in his movies. Huge fan.

I like watching the extended cuts of the movies I love, Colors and Almost Famous come to mind, and while I do enjoy seeing the extra little bits of the story and characters that I dug so much, at the end of the movie I always think the same thing, ehh the directors got it right the first time
I dont think Ive ever seen a directors cut that i liked more than the original

Lmao Hulk has always looked old AF. But damn he was going through it right there, boi. "HOW MUCH MONEY DID THEY SPEND ON THE PLASTIC SURGERY, MEAN GENE?!" Hulk could barely breathe dammit!

The conclusion of the greatest storyline in WWF history and thats a shoot!

Most of the PLE's are only 5 matches unless it's one of the big ones. Gives all the matches time and keeps the PLE's from being 7 hours long.

Ignore the pre-show and you have a nice 3hr block of wrestling.

Yea, 5 matches is usually how many matches they have on the local shows I go to and its just the right time for a good 2 and a half hour show, gives every match enough time to breathe and play out in the ring without being rushed and you also got room for a couple promos/intermission/extras without getting too long and boring

Nice and tight, just like ole Pete's abs these days

Oh dang, now I'm piqued
I’m pretty sure he was fired up in his promo last night and slipped in a GAWHDAMN! But it’s tough to tell when he gets going sometimes lol

For the most part I'm with you. Two of my favorite movies, Jaws and the Blues Brothers, had extended releases that did nothing for me. Most stuff that gets cut gets cut for a reason. The Lord of the Rings is a different matter, though. The director's cuts of those are the only way to go.

Backlash is just 5 matches??

The couple of non big 4 PLEs I watched in the last year were a struggle to get through. 5 matches, 2 of them were good 20+ minute matches, 3 of them were 10-15 minute basic matches with no heat and might as well have been on RAW. Every match had about 20-25 minutes of dead time between them with commercials and promos for their non wrestling TV shows.

All the dead time between matches was brutal, they could've easily fit in another match or two.

A recent one where I like the director's cut more than the theater release is the Snyder cut of Justice League, but that wasn't a real director's cut.

That was a Zack Snyder made 90% of a shitty movie, had to leave the production for a family emergency, Joss Whedon gets brought in to fix Zack Snyder's mess, couldn't fix it, Joss Whedon takes all the heat, Zack Snyder gets to come in like a hero and make a "director's cut" with hindsight in mind and 10's of millions of new dollars to film some new scenes lol
