How did he end up doing?

He got 8th out of a 32 man bracket. Medaled but didn't make state. He needed 5th. Wrestled 3 matches with his bad shoulder. He didn't make any excuses for losing because of it so neither will I. They were just better than him. Simple as. He medaled 8 out of 9 tournaments this year. Last year he only medaled 3 out 9. He went on a hell of a run this season especially considering he had no training partners all season. His main training partner blew his knee out playing football and the rest of the upper weights quit because of some drama going on with the coaches on his team.

He was bummed but still happy to stand on the podium. This was his 4th time qualifying for this tournament and before this time he's never even won a match. He's ready to move on. He's been training year round the past 4 years and has been at this sport off and on since he was 5. He's excited to go to a University and become an engineer. He wants to start training BJJ this summer.

That's a great improvement and he's got every right to be proud of what he accomplished.

Crash with 4 to go, yellow flag is out, we're headed to overtime
