Col Debeers was a great heel gimmick and it wasnt controversial the way Dave's making it sound, he was a horrible bad guy racist that said and did evil racist shit and us fans hated him for it but there was no real controversy around it, he was a hated bad guy and thats all it was

People that watched the Portland Territory say his Mega Maharishi gimmick in the early 80's was even worse, meaning better, than Col. Debeers, if you ever seen the Netflix documentary called Wild Wild Country about a cult that poisoned a buncha people in Oregon, his gimmick was based on that cult leader

He was a great heat magnet. The Hall feud, and he had another against Derrick Dukes that was pretty good from my memory.

Yea, they had a match where the winner got to paint the loser, if Derrick Dukes lost Col. DeBeers would paint him white and if DeBeers lost then Dukes would paint him black

Talk about controversy LoL, thats frickin heat right there, brother
 
Another little tidbit about Col DeBeers, he was actually the guy that accidentally pulled off Kerry Von Erich's boot during a match and revealed to everyone that Kerry had his foot amputated, before that accident no one knew because Kerry would always wear his rasslin boots to the building and would even shower with them after the match
 
And by "foot" I mean Kerry got his whole entire leg amputated when he won the NWA Title and then went riding on his motorcycle and crashed the very same night
 


What can MLW do to get over as a promotion?
 
Col DeBeers actually had a match with Rey Mysterio Jr in Portland. His valet was Tonya Harding.
