Alien : Romulus was ok, not really my kind of movie although there were a few things i liked about it but I will absolutely 100% without a shadow of a doubt stone cold lock of the week annual put a stamp on it guarantee one thing, this movie will sweep all the sound categories at the big awards season festivities
Foley work, sound editing, sound effects razzle dazzle, whatever type of gimmicks they give out for all that stuff, this flick will win them all in a landslide, that part of the film was a frickin masterpiece

That's always been a solid staple of the Alien franchise. Half the reason the face huggers are so terrifying is the disgusting slimy sound effects of their hatching and then the little tapping of their legs on the metal ship floors as they scuttle around. I hate it! Even the sound of the pulse rifles has always been different from other gun sound effects

The meme and funny grins make it easy to hide that he's actually pretty big and has a solid power move set. He's looked strong in both his NXT matches and I mean that literally

I suspect you will enjoy it, it was a solid film, my post kinda sounded a bit more dismissive than I intended, they did a lot of things right but I couldnt get deep in the story because I dont know any of the lore and I think the filmmakers expected you to already know whats going on so they didnt waste anytime world building

Did you watch Alien and Aliens? Did you like Alien? This movie felt more like Alien. My wife isn't a big Alien fan. She's watched Alien and Aliens because those are the ones I've watched the most. But she didn't even know the aliens are called Xenomorphs. She still gave it a 9/10. They had a lot of references to the first two movies because this movie takes place between Alien and Aliens, but I thought they did a good job explaining all the basic lore, the facehuggers, chestburtsters, acid blood, etc. The time the movie takes place in, lore wise, they are just learning about the xenomorphs.

Side note: I thought they did an exceptional job of explaining the story of why they were going to that ship in the first place. The depression and hopelessness of the mining colony was well done. I was curious how they would explain these bum ass miners getting into the top secret Weyland intel ship.

Well it ain't no Alien Isolation (which also takes place between the first two movies and you play as Ripley's daughter).

For the record, your grandmother loving horror/monster movies and taking you to see them is one of my favorite Pete story staples. That's so wholesome

My grandmother tried to support my horror habit. She took me to see Anaconda lol. We made it all the way to Ismay getting wrecked off the waterfall and she said "that's it, we're leaving"

Her niece came with us too and she was asking me what Twisters was and I regaled her with the tales of a mid 90's disaster blockbuster for the ages that was a massive hit because of this fancy pants new special effects that was sweeping the nation and had us all so excited

She was legit enthralled and fully piqued to see the movie


Then she learned a cold dark reality of life, sometimes shit just dont work out, kid
