JCP was probably looked at as close to equal in Jan 87 though, right? Before their financial problems and before WM3. They did over $20 million in revenue in 86 and were on their way to making major motion pictures and sitcoms (baby).

I can only speak from my own personal limited experience but I definitely never saw JCP as anything close to WWF business wise, WWF was filming in brightly lit major arenas with state of the art slick tv production and filling the K-Mart with dolls and ice cream bars and had a huge merchandise catalog, we were 2 months away from the greatest rasslin spectacular ever, meanwhile JCP was in a tv studio in front of 50 people offering 4 Horseman vitamins by mail order and had never even done a PPV

Im sure in the South it was looked at differently but we were only exposed to the syndicated and cable tv shows full of squash matches out here and WWF was miles ahead in that area

As far as the actual rasslin at the action packed house shows all over the South, obviously JCP was way better than WWF, but we didnt get to see any of that out here, just an occasional snippet at the start of their crummy ole Saturday studio show

I remember the first time I went to the CNN Center in 94 and even the Turner Store didn't have WCW merchandise yet. It wasn't until 97 or so that I finally started seeing the Loony Tunes stuff at Walmart and Kmart and this was in WCW's backyard.

I miss the mall kiosks with bootleg merchandise back then. There was a talking Austin 3:16 shirt I wish I'd bought. What a time to be alive.

Like when CNN reported Randy Savage winning the WWF title at WMIV and didnt even mention Sting vs Flair at Clash Of Champions that ran at the exact same moment on their very own network

<lmao> <lmao> <lmao> <lmao>

I used to like the Looney Tunes store we had out here at the mall back in the 90's, always had some cool looking stuff, of course i was a tough guy gangster running hard and heavy back then so I couldnt fully appreciate it the way I would today

Did you guys have one of those, im assuming they were in every mall

I had some bootleg shirt that was him holding the belt on the front and the back just said in big white letters AUSTIN RULES

I don't remember an LT specific store but all the malls here had a Warner Bros store. You could get the Taz NWO stuff at Walmart and Kmart.

He would do Bob Sapp numbers tbh.

@My Spot have you ever seen this, Hogan and Kamala in a backstage interview segment pull apart brawl, I never even knew this happened til right now and I am pretty surprised by it cause this was something the WWF usually didnt didnt do, it was very much a Southern studio rasslin type of gimmick
Its tame by todays standards but seeing Vince in the middle of all that chaos and how flustered and shook up Bobby Heenan was is a pretty interesting moment by 1986 standards

I love it, love everything about it!
Are you gonna do a monster truck ride?
No rides for me tonight, the lines for rides at this event are insaneeee and I'm a cheap ass. My buddy said they include rides with some ticket packages so they'll run until everyone gets to ride, which can go hours after the show ends. I'll be back at the hotel watching UFC or something by then.

Yea, the monster truck ride lines are always long as heck at the dirt tracks out here too

Why is that truck being hoisted by a crane, is that how they get em on the track?
