This is exactly like January '86 when Vince and Jim Crockett both ran Philadelphia on the same day and Dusty Rhodes got on the mic and said "Somebody go tell Hulk Hogan that Dusty Rhodes is in town!"
I wonder if Cody is gonna homage that moment
"Somebody go tell Sonny Kiss that Cody is back in town!"
Not gonna lie, if I was ol' Hulkster, I'd have done a Rock/Booker T and gone, "Who?"This is exactly like January '86 when Vince and Jim Crockett both ran Philadelphia on the same day and Dusty Rhodes got on the mic and said "Somebody go tell Hulk Hogan that Dusty Rhodes is in town!"
When was that? It wasn't Jan 86 according to The History of WWE.This is exactly like January '86 when Vince and Jim Crockett both ran Philadelphia on the same day and Dusty Rhodes got on the mic and said "Somebody go tell Hulk Hogan that Dusty Rhodes is in town!"

You haven't mashed the keypad to obtain a special dialing wand?January '87, my stupid fat fingers failed me again
@Pliny Pete AWA and WWF ran the Twin Cities on Thanksgiving in 85, I wonder which one was the matinee.
AWA - St Paul Civic Center - 12,000 - battle royal to win $100k and Chevy pickup truck
WWF - Met Center - 15,000 - Hogan vs Savage

WWF ran San Fran and Sacramento the same day in Nov 99 and sold out both. Without Austin (since he'd already been ran over 20 days earlier).Thats a lotta people watching rasslin, wonder how many double dipped and hit up both shows, that woulda been a young ole Pete's dream holiday adventure, just stuff a turkey leg in my pocket for later and I'm out!
JCP was probably looked at as close to equal in Jan 87 though, right? Before their financial problems and before WM3. They did over $20 million in revenue in 86 and were on their way to making major motion pictures and sitcoms (baby). Its a funny little moment in rasslin history, but if they did it today, it woulda got ruined in 5 minutes by internet neckbeards bullshit
"Umm, actually, Dusty just proved he doesnt matter and WWF is the far superior "product"(I hate that fucking word so much!) cause he knew Hulk Hogan was in town but he needs someone to go tell Hulk that he was there which shows that Jim Crockett Promotions will be outta business by February"

Sounds like my kinda partySacramento has always been a great town for WWF ever since they started running there in '84, they always pull hot houses there
Ive said it better and I'll say much more in the future, Sacramento is a very underrated sports town, they have a rabid fanbase that loves the Kings and also supports all their minor league teams, Sacramento Republic FC is only a few years old and it will be in MLS soon because of how much fan and corporate support it has
They have a solid regional MMA scene and their live event business overall is booming
Its a college town in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by thousands of miles of farmland on all sides and all those hardworking blue collar folks love to go into the "city" after they cash their checks on Friday to party at the casinos, bars, concerts, boxing matches, magic shows, sporting events etc
Everything that runs there always draws good houses
