@Pliny Pete BTS is covering 97 this week. Austin's neck injury, Luger beating Hogan clean for the title, and Cornette finding out live as it aired that the back windshield on his car had been busted out during a prerecorded brawl segment.

Did they confirm that was really in Luger's contract that he had to be champion by such and such date and that's why he went over? That's always sounded like internet wrestling talk to me!

I haven't gotten to the WCW section yet but I've read that before too (that he had to be WCW champ within two years when he came back in Sep 95). I don't remember if the Nitro book talked about it or not.

Corny was beating the shit out of his trunk with a bat when some janitor walked up and asked for his autograph so he got all high pitched like when Bruce imitates him. "You motherfucker! I'll autograph your neck with my hands and choke the life out of you!"

Motherfucker.

He lost the title like 5 days later.......sounds plausible.

Yea, I read the line up earlier, a couple things sounded kinda interesting, may give it a shot after I finish this '95 episode

It does and it doesn't. If you believe ATM Eric's story, he didnt even want Luger and he lowballed him intentionally hoping he'd turn it down. So why have a title incentive in there? Then that doesn't sound like something Luger would care about either. He just wants the zeroes at the end of the check! So it doesn't seem like something either party would really be interested in BUT it is WCW so it could happen

The mens 100 meters race from last night was frickin insane, @RollSonnenRoll Nascar needs to watch this and steal it for later on this season, holy moley!
The drama, the anticipation, the uncertainty, thats what i call a frickin photo finish!

You guys should all check this out if you havent seen it

I remember a Legends Roundtable panel where Michael Haye's asked Bischoff if Luger had incentives and he conveniently didn't remember.

Shocking. I bet if I asked him what kinda pipes were on that NWO chopper though, he wouldn't even heisiste. "Vance and Hines!"

Good piece of business. Imagine losing out on the gold when you ran the exact time(of a 9.78 for God's sakes!) but there was 1/8 inch of daylight between you and the finish line. The agony of defeat.
