Personally, I think holding WrestleMania in the UK is a bad idea. It's April, so it's not particularly warm, and it's always pissing it down. SummerSlam is a much better option, and there are plenty of venues other than Wembley available to them.

Twickenham has a capacity of 80,000
London Olympic stadium has around 65,000
Emirates Stadium has around 60,000
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has 60,000

Which could work, especially if SummerSlam is moving to 2 days as well.

Yeah I imagine they were negotiating summerslam if I had to guess. Or another PLE. Would be smart to just have a new PLE that goes there annually

Sounds right. I remember Ricky Morton and Hawk getting shots, but the rest is a bit fuzzy. Pretty sure Nikita and Gibson were also part of that run.

I didnt like when Ricky Morton or Hawk got a title shot cause it killed kayfabe for me, there was no way, even in my childs mind, that i could suspend disbelief and think that they would ever let a tag team wrestler win the world title

I didnt know anything about bookers or how the backdoor wheelings and dealings worked but I just knew a tag rassler wasnt getting the strap

Several of the tour dates had concerts, mostly David Allan Coe, but Waylon Jennings got in a few dates and the fans in Cincinnati got George Jones, he only put 3,900 people in Riverfront Stadium, oof no wonder they didnt bring him back

They only put 1,900 in the Liberty Bowl, double oof!

I remember how amazing they made it sound every week on the JCP studio show, they made it sound like every show was Wrestlemania III levels of amazing with sold out stadiums nationwide

The reality was a bit different, I see


Charlotte Memorial Stadium on July 5 is where the legendary video clip of Ric Flair arriving in a helicopter came from, that is such a great moment
Didnt Charlotte redo that gimmick a few years back in WWE?

The undercard of the July 6 show at Dorton Arena in Raleigh was taped and broadcast on the JCP Saturday night TBS show, probably my favorite episode ever of that show

@My Spot s boy JR Benson was at the July 3 date at RFK in Washington DC, he talks about it in his book, his family wanted to go on vacation and he only agreed to go along because it coincided with a Bash show in DC

He said the show sucked, only 6,300 in that big ass stadium, plus he was coming down from hard drugs and psychedelics so he was burnt out

I'm with you on Hawk and Ricky getting shots. It just didn't make sense to me either.

It even felt weird to me when Sting was getting shots and even eventually winning. I never thought a guy with face paint would ever when the big title.
