LZ beat EB so the NWO wouldn't "win" Monday Nitro. Bret was the ref and stopped EB from cheating.@My Spot @RollSonnenRoll watched the first Nitro after Starrcade '97 a little while ago on the stream, they were celebrating Bret Hart as a conquering hero and villifying that evil Nick Patrick for his fast count, Bret was interviewed in the ring by Mean Gene and he had all the charisma of a rice cake, how anyone ever thought he was gonna be a star is beyond me
Apparently Larry Zybysko did something at Starrcade that saved the WCW
Goldberg beat Glacier
Then I got bored and turned it off

To this day, no one knows if Hogan convinced NP to do a normal count, if NP forgot to do a fast count, or if Sting was so messed up from drugs that he forgot to kick out. NP "doesn't remember" whenever he does a shoot interview.

@Pliny Pete Also on the live go home Nitro before Starrcade there was segment where the NWO B team came out and dismantled the Nitro set. So many people changed the channel that they almost lost their precious streak to a taped episode of Raw.

The nWo destroys the WCW Nitro set and replace it with their own: Nitro, December 22, 1997
The nWo take over Nitro by destorying WCW's set and putting up their own.www.wwe.com
It ended with Hogan getting his head in a box.
Well Thunder was starting the next month and had been forced on them by TBS. Supposedly one show was gonna be WCW and one was gonna be NWO but then plans changed after the disastrous ratings for that quarter hour came in.I kinda remember that set dismantling, didnt it just keep going on hella long with no real payoff, like they didnt gimmick the set, they really had them up there wrenching on shit?
I remember being confused watching it live, like what the fuck is the fun in this?

Jarrett talking about EA Sports College Football 2025 and catchin' an ass whoopin'.
Savage took Hall's place in the 6 man match and only on the condition that his team would win.The cracks were starting that night
- Nash took his ball and went home to get out of jobbing to Giant. He complained of chest pains and went to the hospital but nobody bought that.
- Savage is working a 6 man in the second match because he doesn't fit anywhere into the NWO storyline at all and should have never been there
- Hall is only working as a manager
- Bret looks like a moron during his debut
- Sting's victory is tainted
All these big stars that look good on paper are essentially doing nothing.
The only bright spot's are DDP and Goldberg, who would carry the company in 98.

That clip is only 2 1/2 minutes and it feels so much longer. For a company that loved their motorsport and blue collar tie-ins, they couldn't get like a sponsored Dually out there to rip it apart Lethal Weapon 2-style and make a cool stunt out of it?! Nah, let's get some PA's on a ladder with a socket setI kinda remember that set dismantling, didnt it just keep going on hella long with no real payoff, like they didnt gimmick the set, they really had them up there wrenching on shit?

Eric has never fully explained what his big visions for the NWO having their own brand was. It's weird because he still seems convinced it was the best way to go but he can't really explain what it was going to be. How does a show where everybody are the heels work? I don't know!An NWO show sounds so stupid, the whole point of rasslin is watching the good guys try to find a way to beat the villains, you dont want a whole show where the villains stand around dicking off with their jack off friends and celebrating how much of an asshole they are
Oh, everything will be black cause were cool and we'll all have smarmy attitudes every week

It probably was, my point was that that single clip was only 2 1/2 minutes but it felt longer because of how awful it was.I remember it going on all show long, LoL what the heck, i was running hard and heavy back then, dog
