I can't imagine. He for sure did. As much as I loved his acing, his stand up and interviews were always too much for me. The constant energy dialed up to 11 was too much. In hindsight, it was clearly a coping mechanism to not let us in and mask all that.Hes one of the few actors that I can tell has experienced some legit darkness. I can just see it in them. They can bring it out for certain roles so well because its a shoot. Being suicidal is really a hellish experience. A lot of strange and terrifying things are going on. It's not a good time questioning your own sanity.
My only issue has always been how movie Jack has zero transformation. He looked crazy and ready to murder everybody in that yellow Volkswagen from day 1. Robin couldn't have been Crazy Jack better than Nicholson but he could have been Jack the father much better and made the second half even more impactful.I love Robin but no. Jack Nicholson slayed. That's not only my favorite horror movie but ome of my favorite movies ever. Always finding new things.

Carrey is the same way. He's been through some shit.Yeah, that's why I preferred his more serious stuff when I got older. A lot of the comedians have a strong jester/fool archetype in them and it can lead to some issues. It's a really fascinating archetype, though. It's some pretty deep shit.
That's what alcohol does to you! Shouldn't have taken that job.
If Jack was straight edge he would still be alive right now!
