It is indeed. Is that the infamous slop bucket?
Not just the public facade but in being a man. I’m not from Texas or a wrestling family but here in Georgia you ain’t a real if you can’t handle your liquor or your drugs. Even if you are a teenager at the time.
I feel like they could have found a little guy.Jeezus Sara, it's a fucking movie.
Like Pete stated above, they did actually save the foot and he was recovering. He rushed it though and was also fucked up and walked on it without crutches crushing it. It got infected and they had to amputate
I know you told me.@Sara In case you were wondering, Kerry didnt get into a crash on the same night he won the NWA title either, it actually happened 2 years later
He crushed his foot, rushed his return to the ring because the family and the promotion needed him, and that reinjured his foot which then had to be partially amputated, only part of his foot though, not his whole calf
Humorous little side story, you wanna how the world found out Kerry was missing a foot?
He was fighting Col. DeBeers in the AWA in Las Vegas(I think) and DeBeers grabbed Kerrys leg and his boot slipped off and exposed Kerrys stump foot
Kerry scrambled to put his boot on as everyone stood there frozen in shock because up to that point everyone believed he had recovered and just walked with a slight limp
Even then, the story was only known about in lockerroom whispers and super smart fan inner circles
Did fritz make him rush?Like Pete stated above, they did actually save the foot and he was recovering. He rushed it though and was also fucked up and walked on it without crutches crushing it. It got infected and they had to amputate
"Notwithstanding numerous unprecedented predatory practices against the World Wrestling Federation." is the most Vince sentence I've ever read.
I do think that's part of it as well. He was probably thinking that all wrestlers take pills, do coke and drink all night. We hadn't seen the rash of early wrestler deaths from drug abuse at that time so I can imagine he was a little naive to either how bad they were or how harmful their addiction could beI can see that part of it too, thinking its just boys being boys and not accepting how bad its becoming because we all had our fun when we were young

Did fritz make him rush?
Did he also say he paid the boys more and kept some of their pay?Yes, the business was going down quickly from their peak a couple years earlier so he pressured Kerry to rub some dirt on it and get his lazy ass back in the ring for the sake of the family and the company
Presurer him for sure, but Kerry felt pressure anyways because he knew the territory needed him.Did fritz make him rush?
"and most importantly, for your daddy, son."Yes, the business was going down quickly from their peak a couple years earlier so he pressured Kerry to rub some dirt on it and get his lazy ass back in the ring for the sake of the family and the company

I was a bit of a double kid. Hockey tonks on Friday and the country club on Saturday. A WHOLE lot got swept under the rug.I can see that part of it too, thinking its just boys being boys and not accepting how bad its becoming because we all had our fun when we were young

That was one part of the story that I've never read or heard before. Fritz actually had several businesses and investments, he did really well for himself the entire time he ran World Class. They really had a big, beautiful Texas ranch like that. The boys rode in new trucks and Jeeps. I felt like that was tacked on as a little nail in the coffin to make the audience not like him. That I dont know but I wouldnt doubt it, it fits in line with everything else we know about him
