@RollSonnenRoll You mad right now?! That stupid son of a bitch who played Ric Flair almost ruins that movie!
Bruhhh. He was AWFUL. That was one of the worst damn things I’ve ever seen and ruined an awesome scene. Even my filthy causal sister was like “what a horrible Flair.”

@Pliny Pete i see exactly what you mean about the portrayal of wrestling. This was a perfect way to show casual audiences the politics of The Business and booking. Instead they almost portrayed wrestling as a shoot sometimes!

You got teary eyed, Pete. ADMIT IT DAMMIT!

I was too busy neckbeard raging at the 112 things they got wrong to allow myself to get wrapped up in the story
I will watch it again when it hits streaming, now that I know its completely fulla shit from a rasslin nerd standpoint I will try to just set back and take the ride and appreciate it as a film, I think I got the grapefruits to do that

Chavo as the Sheik was almost as bad.

Did you enjoy the scene at the parking lot of the Sportatorium?
I love the way the camera takes is through the crowd like were pulling up to the matches on a Friday night, I wanted to tell you to wait til the first time the Sportatorium appears cause I suspect you will appreciate the Southern rock vibe of it all but I had already spoiled so much that I decided to give you a break

My #1 main complaint is that the film really failed to convey just how huge the Von Erichs and WCCW was at their peak, these dudes were legitimate rock stars that were on top of the world and you just dont get that in the movie, you never get a sense of the magnitude of shock and heartbreak these deaths caused on the people of Texas because it seems like nothing more than a podunk small time operation when it was oh so much more than that

That and the Tom Sawyer montage were my favorite parts. They nailed exactly what I imagine a Saturday night at the Sportatorium to be. The tailgating, the girls in their cutoffs to catch the Von Erich's eyes, the boys pulling up and giving autographs. That was awesome.

If anything they also downplayed how intimidating, forceful and scary Fritz was. I would also say a very romanticized version of the boys themselves. Aside from Kerry doing coke in the montage and the steroid needle shot, they're really portrayed as the wholesome all American boys they sold. Kevin telling the girl he was a virgin popped me. Yeah sure, pal <Lmaoo>
