I think I've seen their 1985 match before.

That Portland arena was absolutely stuffed to the rafters for the match on this tape, no way it was obeying fire codes, it was an NBA arena too so it wasnt like it was a bingo hall, Billy Jack was over like rover

I was into that scene 2000-03 down here but it wasn't really warehouses. I only knew of that scene from the movie Groove.
I did street team for a big NY electronic music record label here and helped get airplay on the local and college radio. Here It was more tents out in grass lots, open air GOA style night parties out in nature, shutdown bowling alleys, etc and then the annual new yrs rave at the la sports arena.

There were some fun electronic music clubs in downtown SD tho (4th and B RIP).

Around that time the bigger indie/underground hip hop acts used to headline the hip hop/jungle tents too so u could see ur favorite djs and rappers at the same party (shoutout Audiotistic).
Shit was wild.

Amazing time to be a fan of music and parties in general.

Ive seen Groove a long time ago, dont remember it being at Home Base, now I wanna check it out again
My time was 96 through maybe NYE 99(I think that was at the Cow Palace)

They had lots of other raves at different places, including at campgrounds and in the mountains, but we didnt go to any of those

The other huge amazing rave I went to was at the San Jose fairgrounds, that was another night I'll never forget, we worked that show so i had backstage passes and hung out with a lot of huge electronic music stars of the time in their private quarters

Since it was a fairgrounds there was over a dozen buildings of various sizes that were used for different kinds of music or VIP lounges or whatever, they also had a fair with rides and games

The rodeo arena wasnt being used but you know my ass had to flash my pass and go in there to look about, it was cool to be in there all alone exploring while there was a huge party going on outside

Saw a fire performing chick catch herself on fire cause she had no idea what she was doing, swallowed the liquid fire, it was bad

I'm surprised he didn't get a bigger run in one of the fed, even if he was bat shit crazy.

He had already screwed Vince over once when he vanished in '84 after WWF ran vignettes and put him on the cover of a merch catalog(I think)or a program or something, so getting an upper card feud against Hercules and a featured spot on Wrestlemania III was probably the most he could ever hope for
He definitely couldve been a solid IC champion though, he had the talent, the looks and was over enough with the fans
