In a supposedly 'free' country, Biden militarily occupied the capital to secure an election. Putin isn't innately any more authoritarian than Biden - but he is more intelligent and capable.

He basically tricked Chechens into solving their problems by themselves instead of using brute force and losing more Russian soldiers, as was done during the 1st Russian-Chechen War. Russia got the peaceful region, Chechnya… well, strong leadership in Kadyrov and then Kadyrov-jr.

I think a month or so ago I saw in a Russian political TV show that it was called a civil war/conflict -- like, pro-Russian Chechens versus pro-independence and that Russia just supported one side of the conflict.

I don't think Chechnya became peaceful region or crime-free or terrorism-free.
