Yeah it has a great library from the looks of it. This conversation just reminds me what a huge disappointment the Wii-U was in every way. That's actually my only real gripe with the PS5 is the white controllers. But there will be black aftermarket controllers almost immediately. I wouldn't be surprised to see some DemonSouls collectors edition at some point that will be mostly black.

Apparently the Sony boss was noncommittal several days ago when journalists confronted him with that leak, and asked about the pricing. He said it would be good, but dodged the question, and immediately changed the topic.

Not a good sign.

Was this the first leak? Toms guide is saying different but looks like it was another leak. This is a great price and I'd easily pay this price.

Something I haven't really seen talked about is the price of additional storage, 1tb isn't going to be enough for a lot of people. Sony has already said that you can hook up a USB device to store your games, but they can't be played from that USB device. So you're going to have to be transferring games back and forth or buy another SSD. 1tb PCI-E 4.0 NVME's are at about $200 right now so I'd assume the Sony certified compatible drives will be around the same price if not more expensive. If the $500 console price is true, that's 40% of the price of the console just to upgrade your storage.

Yep it's not going to be cheap. On top of that you will be limited to drives Sony has classified as "suitable". So you'll be even further limited with your options. Oh well I learned long ago that gaming isnt cheap and I treat it like I do my vacations. Just throw money at it.

I do think you can play PS4 games off your external drive though it's just PS5 games you wont be able to.

MS seems to be doing some sort of proprietary SSD install they have. I'm not sure which one will end up being more expensive but I think it would be the MS drive.

They really need to stop this proprietary shit, just use an off the shelf drive so it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Or at least use their proprietary drive for the master drive and have a space to put a normal 2.5" sata based drive. Let the game developers make the decision if their games require the NVME drive.
