there is so much to be excited for about the remake. i tempered my expectations way too much. now i just need to start the process of pretending like Elden Ring isn’t even a thing anymore.

Yeah me too.
But I remember when the PS4 came out. None of the launch games really separated themselves from the latest PS3 games. I’m expecting the same more or less from this generation too.
Plus I know they’re going to come out with a bigger SSD model as 800 is laughably small.

I’m delaying my order a year, for sure. Got about 25-30 games I gotta finish on the PS4 anyways (late owner).

I dunno. Sometimes you can pick up a sweet deal on a used disc. I predict even sweeter deals if they’re trying to squeeze out physical discs.
And how much are they going to discount the digital model PS5 ? Cuz I see what they’re doing. They want to get in the distribution racket instead of just the transportation. Like the Mexicans against the Colombian Cartels.

Well it better be a 100$ if they want me to consider it.

The trailer for Demon's Souls looked sterile and lacked all the atmosphere of the original but those Twitter pics look damn good. Definitely won't be getting a PS5 at launch but might consider it when they release a less ugly, smaller re-design.

Worried about how much they'll change from the original, too. Don't fuck this up.
 
Ratchet & Clank looks INSANE. That series never got the credit it deserves.

Overall the event was alright. Not disappointing but also not great. I think the design is trying a little too hard to look futuristic, but I don't care that much.

That console looks ugly as fuck (so does the Series X though lol). Like a pistachio that's JUST right to pry open and eat the good stuff haha.
Games look fine though. Nothing that got me really hyped, so I think MS has the bigger release selling point with Halo Infinite, but I'll get both consoles again regardless.

They already know how to use the capabilities. All the developers have been programming on 8-core x86 CPU architecture & standard DDR RAM channels for the past 7 years. Meanwhile, development on RDNA GPU architecture for PCs has been happening since July of last year, and development on NVMe SSDs has been happening for over half a decade. These aren't the consoles of the past. Nothing's new.

Virtually all of the progress you're going to see in the graphical sophistication of games over the course of the PS5 and XBX lives is going to come from improved software engines and rendering techniques. The PC platform will also benefit from that.

Consoles are never as graphically strong as they are at launch respective to PCs. They're only going to become relatively weaker as time passes.
