I would say that coming from an nypd officer is more reliable than a stat from you or I. They likely have to guess because they can’t ask status I think as a matter of policy

This is covered in the laken riley law, not sure these states are enforcing the law, but in theory, these should get auto deported. Other states will be considerably less, and it becomes a numbers game.

Well, the ones getting arrested multiple times is a no brainer. Hell, we don’t even need to wait for them to be convicted if we didn’t want to. But the whole deportation process is expensive and where do you drop these people off at? How do you verify where they are from? What if they refused to tell you where they are from-where do you send them?

And we won’t get that reliable number because nypd doesn’t ask status. You could get a better estimate by looking at Hispanic stats, but you would be catching some US citizens in that net as well. I will poke around and see what I can find

Now, I am not going to, but we could look at the data before the massive surge from a few years ago and compare it to now. But again, that seems like too much work atm

NYC has a large native Hispanic population though so I think it's a bad proxy.
