The appeal of Japanese women is they dress less sexually, and act very feminine. And like most Japanese people of any sex, very polite and respectful in their interactions. So much nicer than most of the other places I go where turbo-narcissism has turned most people into tripwire aggravated fuck ups. Unfortunately what's gross is lot of Japanese men seem to have borderline underage fetishes so lot of already young girls dress up and look very young. It's really the only part of Japanese culture that is very offputting to me.
Kabukicho is the red light district but is tame. Unfortunately it's kinda cliche in that in Japan it's pretty rare to see foreigners there outside of tourists, and the foreigners (in particular black folk) tend to be the ones that hang around Kabukicho and look to get you into services, though at other time and other place native japanese folks will be trying to get you to get a massage or whatever if you're out around last call times.
Anyhow, prostitution is a gross profession and for losers, so strongly recommend avoiding. To avoid the pimps I'd normally put on my headphones and just refuse eye contact and walk through. Pointing to marriage band doesn't help. Good part is the folks know Japanese won't tolerate violence so you always feel physically safe there.
