Proof that free will is a lie

are people this retarded , honestly?
this isnt that impressive, they are just mimicking by listening and speaking slightly behind. after about what id guess is 65years, it just beecame their natural way of talking. some stuff is obvious for them because theres really no other choice of words, which you can tel because they are more in sync, and the other stuff you can tell one is always behind picking up on the the slow slurred speach of the other generally at the beginnning of a thought/sentence., which again wouldnt be that hard after 65 years of repetition.

Come on don't be so harsh. He's bringing up an interesting topic nonetheless.

Yeah I've seen this clip and they aren't isolated from each other, they're inseparable now.

They're very clearly two women who are identical twins and maybe a wee bit on the spectrum just talking together in harmony.

It's not proof of determinism it's just proof these two are currently very close and have leaned in hard on making their twinship their identity. They're the type of twins who dress the same on purpose.
Do these types of twins share the same boyfriends and relationships? I might need to look into this for research purposes.

I certainly believe that there is a lot of illusion when it comes to free will, but if it is completely an illusion then I don't understand why we have consciousness at all. What would be the point?

And for that reason, I'm out.

The real thing that bakes my noodle - is consciousness an illusion?

This video was posted in the YLYL thread, credit to @Strychnine.

But in addition to being kinda funny, I also find it fascinating.

I've long suspected that free will is a lie. That we are nothing but meat computers and when we get a specific input we produce a specific output.

But of course this is hard to test because every meat computer is made up of different meat, and cooked in different environments, so they will make different choices.

But in this video you have twins that are made up of the same DNA and raised in the same environment. And they experienced a traumatic event involving a gunman attacking their mother. That is the input.

And when they describe the event, that is the output. And you can see that they are "choosing" the same exact words at the same exact times.

Which to me seems like strong evidence that if you have people with the same DNA, raised in the same environment, and you give them a choice, they will always choose the same option. Hence, no free will.

If one of them wanted to speak different than the other she could have chosen to do so, but they just talk this way because it is not something they want to change.

Did you make this thread at Sherdog out of free will, or because this was just 'a specific output'?

Testing out some defense theories for your upcoming trial, TS?

Twin studies are complicated and one of my interests, I don't think they say much about free will. The two in the video (I've not watched but recognise them) have spent their lives trying to be as similar as possible. It was a way for them to get attention and they've run with it, so what you're seeing mostly is a type of training that doesn't occur elsewhere due to a lack of sufficient motivation.

Their best use is for determining the extent of genetic influence, using adopted at birth monozygotic twins.

I think there is a universe of evidence that there is no free will and no evidence that there is free will.

Any examination of the arguement for free will becomes a god of the gaps arguement.

If your definition of free will is could have done opposite to what you want, then how is it free? Thats just random noise.

They share the same genetic make up so naturally they will both want to do the same thing.

Determinism is a philosophical theory of the world in which our decisions have already been made at the start of the universe, but it is our decisions.

If I ever go to court I will use no free will as my defense. I´m about to rob a bank and sell crack to kids. I got no free will it´s not my fault.
