I already have a couple of Sher-wagers on the outcome--see the bet thread. I had no idea so many could back someone so shitty so it's closer than I thought possible, but I still think the "any alternative to Trump" vote will make the difference just like it did in 2020.

I don't wish to divulge that information here but it's not relevant anyway. I understand the need for travel and other restrictions whether they impact me personally or not. Literally no one I'm related to or close to--and that's a lot of people around these parts, let me tell you--was lost because of COVID. But other places were not so mindful of these measures and the people there have a different story to tell. You can't buy those lives back with money.

Aside from that, honestly, it bugs me that you continue to suggest I can't sometimes disagree with what the government does while still preferring them over the alternative in general, despite having explained that idea already more than once. I mean, come on, seriously.

It's interesting the change in the Heritage Foundation with Trump.
As a think tank they've historically been about promoting ideology and policy that furthers an agenda, on behalf of donors like the Koch brothers.
Reagan doctrine, vulgar libertarianism, fossil fuel industry interests etc.
When they ditched Kay Coles James for Kevin Roberts it was an announcement that they were part of the "new" American "conservatism", and all in on the paranoid style of populism, identity politics and culture war.
