The SC working to expand the powers of the executive -and themselves- has an almost total block on being checked by the Legislative branch. With a senate impeachment off the table for justices, they can rule however with impunity. And if the Executive can count on their support, it's really just one hand washing the other.

I do think if a hard fascist coup happens the leader will be someone else and Trump will exit stage right relatively quickly. The leader would be someone we've probably both heard of but wouldn't think would be the leader.
