I think the other cool thing is that both nations are relatively new as independent. What, 91 and 95?
One from Yugoslavia and the other from the Czech Republic.
It was "Czechoslovakia" and it only formed in 1918.

Or alternatively, they were both really, really old countries with temporary unions when that was a thing in the 1900s.

Is anyone seeing remco as a legitimate contender at the tdf this year? I felt like he was striking a lot better in GC contests last year, but really sold out on him when he couldn’t beat jorgenson for GC at nice in 24. Feels like he’s been moving in the wrong direction.

Maybe not this year. I've got a feeling Vingegaard is going to be super strong and maybe Pogacar a bit overcooked?

Expecting Vingegaard to come on strong in the last week and Pogacar maybe to tire. Should be an epic battle.

Remco will be there or thereabouts. I think might end up with at least one tour before his career is out.

I genuinely have no idea what shape Jonas is in. I have to assume it’s good considering who he is. But I’ve seen so little of him. You know pogacar is going to fucking bring it no matter what.

But I agree with such a busy schedule a guy like Jonas in prime form can still do damage. And I do think TJV tends to execute team strategy better over grand tours than UAE.

I feek like evenpoel was surprising me last time until he wasn’t. He was consistent and riding well. It’s just the climbing. When you get to those cat 1 and HC climbs I feel like he just can’t keep up but he was doing better than I expected. I just don’t think he’s in good of shape this year unless he’s struggled in his spring schedule because he’s lost weight

Don't forget Remco smashed into an opening car door while training and had been out for a fair while prior to the spring classics.

The guy has surprised me how well he has taken on the mountains in the GT. He's going to get better and I'd out him on the podium right now behind the other 2.

3 week race and all that so what the heck do I know lol

Dauphine tomorrow!

Apparently remco is saying he’s in the best shape of his life

IN REMCO WE TRUST! (even without Landa holding his hand)

and I am saying this as an 200% objective no favourites cyclismo fan

Is he going to Ineos then?
Sorry a quick Google would tell me lol
So I think so.

It’s the only thing to me that makes sense for ineos dumping so many guys with big contracts like they have. They also have not signed a bike sponsor through the end of the year, which I heard someone mention was a huge complication for MVDP when resigning because of his personal bike deal.

I also heard grumbling that total energies may merge with ineos, which would give them additional funds.

Of course, we hear the rumors this time of year every year. But it makes a lot of sense for ineos.

If you have evenpoel in TDF, you can send Rodriguez to target vuelta which I think he can win 100%
