That’s how I was seeing him. And then in one of the spring races he actually had a great win with ineos at tour of Burgos. And for a second I was thinking he might throw together a little run this year.

I’m curious if ineos was hesitant to take him to a major tour so instead he just quit.

This seemed to be a low "prove it" contract with Ineos. If Caleb did not see himself continuing on past this year and was not going to big races, I could see him thinking better to just quit now.

He seems to have been struggling with motivation for a couple of years now. Tough sport if your heart is not in it.

I am just speculating, of course.

You just can’t take a team who was built around you and quit as often as he did.

At the very least ride through it and try to get in a weird breakaway or something later on.

No one wants to spend millions upon millions to send 7 flat riders to support you then you drop out day 3 cause ya just weren’t feeling the vibes or whatever.

Meanwhile guys like cavendish, while not excellent in present or recent years, is riding out days like that horrendous stage 1 of the tdf where he puked everywhere. Then what, he wins stage 5?

You need to show a little fight. Yes, easy sitting from my desk doing 9-5 white collar work. But even in my career sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and do things you don’t feel like or want to do. You don’t get picked for a 21 day commitment when your a quitter

I remain spooked about the Ayuso implosion during the final stage of Catalunya.
I hope Roglic is forced to do daring moves just like he did in Catalunya so it wont just be sprinting bonus seconds.

UAE and Red Bull Bora teams are about as good, far above the rest.

Gee is putting you Momos to sleep. When the race crosses back over the adriatic, back to civilization, he'll open a can of whoop ass breakaways.
